Is there anyone here who won't completely come out as LGBT at school simply because they don't want the expression of their innermost feelings to become a political statement? I don't care about being popular - coming out would make me a lot more popular because it would give me martyr status. Are there any other trans men and women that have reclaimed their freedom of gender expression? Basically, I'm looking for binary trans people that have gotten to a point in their transition where they're secure enough in their body and identity to no longer feel such a strong need to conform to the stereotypes of their chosen gender. Obviously it's understandable for a trans man or woman to be afraid of defying the expectations society places on men and women due to of concerns with safety and passing, but we need more trans people that aren't scared to defy those expectations.
Personally, I sometimes like to mix up my fashion style with masculine and feminine styles. Embrace my androgyny. Exercise and HRT have molded my body to the point where it can go either way depending on how I choose to present myself. I understand that my style choices sometimes result in confusing ignorant cis people but it's not a big deal because I know I'm a woman. If I want to be perceived as one all I have to do is present myself accordingly and cash in on society's expectations. Same for being perceived as a male. Exploiting the expectations of cis people and their need to put you in the most convenient box available is pretty easy desu.
