in my experience Pride (in london at least) is pretty tame. compared to the Notting Hill Carnival's degeneracy, its nothing. people get all worked up about Pride, but its really nothing special when compared to hetero festivals.

What is it about being gay or whatever that upsets parents so much? I'm not out. Yet my parents keep telling me to stop dressing so boyish and grow out my hair or whatever. I'm ultimately annoyed because I know that my mom is afraid of me being gay. I don't think I could ever come out to her. She's badgering me constantly and I'm tired of it. Assuming your parents were born 40-50+ years ago, think of the culture they were raised in.
Being outed as gay was considered on par with being outed as a drug-addict, back then the media's assumption of gays was that they were all sucking dick in seedy bars and clubs hyped up on weird drugs and dying by the handful of aids.
