So I used to think nonbianary people were obnoxious special snowflakes that just crated unnecessary drama in the struggle of lgbt rights over weird prnoun shit, but recently I met this really great girl (they? Really great they I guess) and over the past six months has proven herself to be a truly trustworthy, wonderful person. She's not crying oppression about being nb, she's rather quiet about it.

In modern society we are taught to look at the world though certain perspectives/lenses.We live in patriarchal world; women take their husband's last names, a standard human body on a medical poster is male, men are taught to be observers and women are objects. Things like lingerie serve no practical purpose for the wearer and are intended for voyeurism only.
The problem is that women are not simply objects, they are observers as well. Yet since the female perspective is considered exotic and non-standard, women often adopt the male lens to look at both themselves...

How long is it going to take to get hormones from an informed consent clinic in the Boston area? Will telling them I self med speed up or slow down the process?
In addition I've run out of my medication and I've been rationing the little I have left but it just feels like I'm fucking dying. I'm doing 50mg of spiro and 4mg estradial. Is this pointless? How long until the flu shit goes away? How do I cope with this in the meantime?
Feels like death guys, I just want to fix this ASAP. Maybe I'm being a baby.

Here in Texas, I went through a therapist to get a letter after only two sessions and walked out of my first doctor's appointment with scripts. I feel like telling both my therapist and my doctor that I had been self-medding for five months help speed up the process.
Side note: my first round of blood tests revealed that the spiro I had been self-medding with was practically doing nothing at all.

Telling them you self med may get you scripts immediately. That falls under least harm.
If you already have obvious body changes, you may be able to go your your GP doc and get under scripts and testing. I went that route. I was on hormones 4 to 5 months when I went and got scripts from my GP doc. She did give me a lecture, and I explained myself and my choices. Also what positive psychological effects they had. I knew about the possible issues with the meds I was on and all the alternatives.
So I've asked this on /pol/ a couple of times but never got a satisfactory answer. I thought between the genuine gay people and the /pol/ people who come here I might have more luck.
What am wondering is where you think homophobia/whatever actually comes from. It's something I've puzzled over for many years and never really understood.
