Ok /k/ I need advice for the best "shit hits the fan"-weapon in my situation. Let me give you the details:

>we can own every weapon americans can except full auto

Ok /k/ so I thought of something like pic related (CZ Scorpion evo 3) because I can stock up on 9mm ammo pretty cheaply (compared to .223) and 9mm out of a long barrel should be sufficient power since very few germans are armed with anything bigger. Plus I live in a city so the maximum fighting distance would be 100 m. I want to buy armor too, I thought of level III or IIIA since level IV is pretty much unnecessary (so few people here have high powered rifles).
What do you think? Rather a handgun or .22 and more ammo? Or a .223 or .308 and significantly less ammo?

I don't know the law in Germany, but you ought to check if the request for a rifle is the same for a pistol.
Plus, if you have a limited amount of money, you should maybe check if there are any second hand rifle because if it is the case, you will, maybe, be able to buy a .223 rifle for the same price than an EVO ( which is around 1800€ if I am correct ).

That's not a question, it's a declaration that "This has what the glock does not.
HOWEVER, to answer your sentence, Glocks have a higher volume of readily available aftermarket accessories, as well as a higher saturation of owners. If you're paranoid about the world ending or are gay enough to spend another $2k over the next few years on cool looking stuff for your pistol, then a Glock has it all. But that's about it.

My friend is enamored with a Nugget. I'm shopping around for a bolt action in .308 myself. Should I convince my friend that the moist nug is not a gun to pursue (at least for a first raifu) and try to have him pick a modern caliber, or should I let him get a nugget and decide from there whether his gun was a good decision?
Specifically, how does the nugget compare ballistically to a modern bolt-action, and is that performance difference enough to justify not getting a Nugget? Or does 7.62x54 still hold up against modern calibers? Assume, for starters, a plinking caliber, but in the long run also reloading and hunting.

I genuinely want my friend to get a good gun. If that gun is a nugget, that's great. But if nuggets suck, what's a comparable rifle for the modern gentleman?
I know there's no objective answer, and I know nuggets are largely considered a meme gun by those who don't like them. I am just looking for feedback specifically related to this situation.
The first question to ask here is, do either you or your friend have much shooting experience? If not, then my honest recommendation is something in .22 LR or something similar, maybe .223.
Jumping in to a full power rifle cartridge is going to set in bad habits of flinching like a motherfucker.
Now, if the experience is there, then to be completely honest the Mosin Nagant is actually a perfectly serviceable rifle, it's just not that great even when compared to contemporary rifles. Its greatest selling point is that it's cheap.
As for the cartridge, Russia still uses 54r to this day, so take that as you will. It'll do just fine against something like a .308 (although the rifle delivering the .308 is likely to be better).
It works okay as a hunting round, since its performance is in the ballpark of .308 and .30-06.
Reloading, forget about it unless you get pricey brass case ammo. Most of what you'll find in 54r is steel case; don't even try reloading that. I think a lot of the ammo is Berdan primed too, which is a pain in the ass to reload compared to Boxer.
tl;dr it's okay but your friend can do better

the rifle is no worse than any other bolt action, thought it will be better with just a small amount of TLC.
ammo is still cheap at 35 cents a round, or up to 60 cents for high quality new manufacture shit, and not about to dry up as the russians are still making it, as well as several other companies (including red army standard, wolf, and Privi).
ammo is also very easy to find, ive yet to find a store that doesnt have any.
Also its fine as a first (purchase) rifle, if you can handle a nuggets recoil you can take on almost anything. though i would suggest giving noguns a round on a 22 at least once before the nugget.

No. But if its what you have, its better than nothing. You can get a 12ga pretty cheap, thats what actual guides carry.

It's a good suppressor round, works in an AR with only an upper change, and uses regular .556 mags. I would rather go to .308 but I'm sure it's ideal for certain applications.

I am stoked about the Galil ACE I saw Rob Ski handling on Youtube, but some people are doubtful about the May/June release for the .308? 2k is my limit. I also was considering a DPS12 shotgun, but at around $1300 it's kindof steep. Wanted to stick with a caliber I already shoot as I reload (.308, .223, 7.62), but considering anything cool. Is an FN FAL or a PTR 91 even worth having if I have a SCAR and M1A? Am I missing out? Shoot me some ideas.
