What were you expecting? A Tiger with ERA?

About $600 baseline. Just don't be such a poorfag and swallow the pill.
>>
>>30036120
You could probably build a passable one for like 400 if you really cheap it and know what to do.

You could go for a Vulcan Arms one, if you don't care for quality, or safety.

Would there be anything "wrong" with a military using massive amounts of commercial vehicles, ie SUVs in combat?

Obviously things like Seven Tons, VSRs and MRAPs are not replaceable with commercial vehicles, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be possible to use something like a Toyota Forerunner as an ambulance or even as a gun truck. Seems like it's working out fine for ISIL.

Isil isnt fighting anyone with armor or legit anti armor capabilities
>>
>>30036043

This sort of thing is dictated entirely by budget. If that's the best you can afford, then you make due. If you can afford better options, then you use better options.
>>
Replacing soldiers is more expensive than replacing vehicle. Lighlty armored vehicles are a thing, but they need armored v-hulls to survive IED's.
Special forces often use commercial derived offroaders though.

Hunters of /k/, I am looking at moving up from a .223 to a larger bullet. Primarily, this would be for shooting southern whitetail and wild hogs within 300 yards. I have two options moving forward in semi-autos:

1. Any AR-15 wildcat caliber, something like 6.5x39, 6.8 SPC, or .300 BLK
2. Semi-auto in .308

It appears that a good semi-auto in .308 is going to run around $2500, plus another $500-800 for a good mid-powered optic. A new upper in any of the AR-15 wildcats is closer to $1000, at most.

In your experience, does the wider wound channel and velocity of the .308 warrant the extra $1500?

For what your shooting, no
Try .264 lbc/6.5 grendel if you don't reload
6x6.8 if you do

IMO no.

.223 is fine for deer. Buy better glass.

You can get an entry level AR-10 for $900.

Is there any place for the battle rifle in modern warfare? As an infantry rifle, and assault rifle is more effective, and a dedicated marksman's rifle and LMG are both more effective at their intended tasks. What role would a battle rifle actually serve?

Looking for ideas of ammo people would like to see being tested. I have access to just about every caliber, and a rural area than I can shoot objects not allowed on a state range. Also need ideas for interesting items to shoot.
Will upload videos of good ideas.

Where did this idea that anyone in the army or marines is this near autonomous blood thirsty weapon with legs? Do people not think of soldiers as just being normal folk?

Also is it worth buying a Mosin Chambered in 308. from Cabella's or should i just buy local and go for 7.62 rounds

>>
>>30035237
It came from action movies and the fact that many functioning war heroes were nearly autonomous blood thirsty weapons with legs.

/k/ i went out and tried several guns for the purpose of concealed carry and liked this m and p shield with grip extension

Is this gun worth a buy for long-term concealed carry use?

>>
>>30034789
Taurus Pt-111 g2 is cheaper, no less reliable, not significantly harder to conceal, and a double stack.

The Shield is a good gun, but it has rapidly become a meme in the CCW world.
>>
>>30034789
It's definitely a gun that will always useful in all situations.

There are better guns for certain situations, but a 9mm single stack still holds up well in all situations.
