>what do you mean your not concealed carrying right now anon?
Explain yourself
There are only 2 instances my gun isn't strapped on:
1) in my house, ~50% of the time
2) when it would be a felony to carry it in that location
Everywhere else, even if it would get me fired or expelled, I carry.
>right now I'm at home, not carrying but it's in reach
>>30039469
I..i- uh I uhm I left m-my hi point at home sorry g-g-guys
I'm a britbong.
What passive technologies do subs have for detecting ships besides visually acquiring them with a periscope?
There's a shitload of information about ships detecting subs but not much about the opposite
Sonar works both ways anon, and surface ships are usually far noisier than submarines.
>>30039380
I'll take passive sonar for $500, Alex....
>>30039404
Sonar would give away the loca-
>>30039409
>passive sonar
How the fuck does that work?
Yo /k/! I don't know a god damned thing about guns, but I live in Alaska and want a hand gun I can have in a holster in case I'm backpacking alone 20 miles from the nearest human being and I encounter a menstruating she-bear. What do you suggest for a weapon and its ammunition?
>>30039361
It doesn't really matter, just file the sight off.
It'll hurt less that way when that bear shoves your handgun up your ass.
>>Get a rifle.
>>30039361
Ruger Alaskan, obviously
>>30039361
Glock 19 with fmj for penetrating
So /k/ why don't all of you have slide fire stocks?
all people here ever say is man I want full auto, well this is one hell of a nice substitute
>>30039275
I mean I'm just saying it's just like full auto
>>30039275
Because they're fucking ugly and are not even close to the same fire rate as a fullauto ar. (IE not as fun)
>>30039275
Nobody makes them for MP5 pattern rifles
I fucked up /k/
I just got my concealed carry licence last week.
I have been wearing the holster in doors to wear it in and get a feel for when I could take it out.
Went for a bike ride through downtown down with my daughter for an hour.
Just realized my fucking fun is gone. It must have slipped out somewhere off the belt. Are they going to pull my permit?
I hate losing my fun
>>30039153
How shitty of a holster were you using holy Emperor my man
Buy a new fun?
ITT: Questions that don't deserve their own thread
Heres mine pic related: what's the function of thatspring-like wire on bottom of the pistol?
It is a stretchable cord, allowing the pistol to be dropped accidentally or on purpose without fear of losing it.
>>30039052
It's like a killswitch on a motocross cycle. If he drops it or it's taken away from him it pulls the firing pin out and the other person can't use it.
>>30039052
Sends a faster stream of bullets the to mag, much quicker then wireless reloads.
What's your most effective way of ceasing arguments with anti's /k/? May personal favourite is:
>Look, I know you hate gun violence. Everybody does, me included. But I think our real issue here is merely a difference of opinion on how to reduce it, and what common sense control really is. I'm willing to agree to disagree because who knows who'll turn out to be right. But attacking me won't solve anything, despite the fact that I own guns, I'm on your side.
>mfw I'm not at all...

>get sights installed professionally on new Glock
>shoots significantly off to the left
Local gunshop is suggesting tapping the rear sight with a brass punch but they have a rep for being screwups. Is that the right move or do I need to find someone with that Glock rear sight adjustment tool?
>>30038871
what do you think about sighting in the pistol all by yourself?
>>30038894
I had a friend shoot it as well and at 10 yards both of us were 3-4 inches left of target, so it's not just me fucking it up.
>>30038871
Using a a punch is fine, I'd recommend a nylon punch over brass especially if you are going to be buying one anyway. If you already have a brass punch, just use it. The rear sight tools are really only helpful with sights that don't have a square profile.
How do I stop crying after this movie?!?!?
You hit 'play' again, pussy. Now get your paddy ass on down the road.

Cali-cucks buckle up because you guys are about to be felons- 90% of you. Here's why (legislation below) :
>AB 0156: Restrictions on ammunition purchases, creates a DOJ database of ammunition owners.
>AB 0857: Requires serial numbers to be placed on all home-built firearms, as well as curio and relic handguns dating back to 1899.
>AB 1135: Bans common and constitutionally protected firearms that have magazine locking devices, such as “bullet buttons”.

Do we know whether it's expected to be signed or vetoed?
>>30038865
Brown might veto those so as not to hurt his reputation, because he knows Newsom is likely going to be the next governor, and Newsom will rubber stamp that shit.
You forgot the most important one
ALL SEMI AUTO RIFLES WITH DETACHABLE MAGAZINES ARE NOW CLASSIFIED AS
***ASSAULT RIFLES****
(that includes the 10/22 lol)
I won't have the money to buy full fun anything in the near future, but I love LMGs. I want a gun with a nice heavy barrel that takes large drums or belts that hand handle somewhat sustained fire. I want a gun that is somewhat impractically large that scream I am overcompensating for something. What's the best way to get there without shelling out more than $1500? Pic related: my dream.

What is that thing? I mean I know it's an AR upper, but beyond that...
I'm making a summer reading list and this year I'm super interested in war memoirs after watching Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Restrepo, and Korengal.
I'm really interested in what I think you'd call "soldier narratives". The thoughts, feelings, and reflections of those who were involved with combat. I'm not looking for books full of military history, tactics, or strategy.
I'm open to any conflict, but I'm thinking specifically about WW1 to the present. I'd love it if anyone knew of good translations of memoirs...

Brazen Chariots (Desert Rat in a Stuart).
Baa Baa Black Sheep (Flying Tigers to Pacific to POW camp).
My War: Killing Time in Iraq (Iraqi War from POV of the first really famous milblogger).
Up Front (Europe WW2 written by cartoonist for Stars & Stripes).
Those are some of my all time favorites. Not so much blood and guts as some of the others, but thoroughly personal accounts with all the small, funny, weird stuff that never seems to make it into the history books.

Just play Metal Gear OP. If you can look past the anime silliness it is actually a decent look at the complexities of conflict and being a soldier.
