So, I'm radiotarded. Please educate me. What two way radios do you guys run? Any off the shelf solutions that also allow encryption? Pic related, I heard they are the gold-standard brand.
Also while I'm here, does pretty much everyone use peltors? Or is there some magical headset I don't know about?

Most agencies currently operate in the UHF Public safety band which is anywhere from 700-900 MHz. Lots of counties in the USA still use VHF though so if it is possible to obtain a dual band radio that would be ideal.

Running encrypted traffic is a sure-fire way to go to federal prison because it's going to look like you're engaging in espionage. Baofengs are not really a gold standard, but they're a great radio for the price.
Which is better, a .380 or a 9mm?
In my opinion 380, it's got pretty much the same stopping power as a 9mm especially if you get hollowd points. Anyhow, if you want to kill things just use .45

9mm is cheaper and more powerful. Only reason to get .380 is the tiny, tiny guns you can fit it in, if you really want to carry in your ass crack.
Which one should I buy for my very first CCW?
Most of the men I've spoken to in person have said the Bersa is better overall because its half the price of the Walther.
However, I have also heard that the Walther is more dependable long term.
Which one would you buy to CC /k/ ?

How good a Walther is can depend on who made it and when.
The Bersa I'd say is more consistent, also if you're interested there's the Plus model which has a doublestacked magazine for 15+1

So I'll start: I owned a pump shotgun for a few weeks, and until now I never dared keep it loaded.
Why? Well, I bought a couple of "fake" shells (like not even blank, just a pastic replica with a spring inside to "not damage the hammer on some models").
I bought them to test it, since it was my first "real gun" (not counting airshit and .22), and I wanted to practice reloading.
ButI quickly noticed I took the habit to "test" it, by pressing the trigger. Also I wasn't sure wich side of the safety was the "no pew" one, and still ain't, so I took the habit to have a fake shell in, press the trigger and see what happened.
That made me terrified to put real shells in, because I was terrified that I would automatically press the trigger "to test it", since I was self-conditionned to do that. Also I simply didn't trust the safety. Maverick 88 though, it's supposed to be safe.
This was despite a few days practicing with slugs at the range becaus fuck yeah.
Took me a litter of of beer and the genius idea to put my flare shells and aim the running shower with my water reserves beside me to convince me to load it, unload it (safety still on, I will never remove the safety inside my appartment without the presence of a nigger, even drunk), then reload it and repeat.
This the time it took to type me this ago, so yeah, drunk posting.
Will wait tomorow to decide if I trust myself enough to load the raifu with non-lethal rounds (Probably. Only beyond 30m) (my appartment is not 10m in any direction, it's mostly to not get fucked by the law.), since the board beside me is telling myself to not make any big decision after even a single beer or while sleep/sex deprived, but right now I feel at last able to do it.
Well. Make me feel like I'm not alone with that kind of irrational fears.

I have a MAK90 that I'd like to outfit with a stock that isn't chunky like soup. I know that a stock set is 3 parts, and the gas piston, bolt and bolt carrier make the other 3 parts. I can find a piston, but I can't find a US-made bolt+carrier. Can anybody help a /k/ommrade out?

I fucked up today /k/...
While at the range, I somehow, SOMEHOW, loaded a 9mm round in to my .45 magazine. No idea how that round snuck in to my ammo box (I didn't even bring a 9), but I didn't notice until I pulled the trigger and was met with a weak report and FTE. The case was jammed in the barrel, and I had to push it out with a cleaning rod. Doesn't look like it did any damage to my 1911, but it's a shitty feeling knowing I was careless.
Any one else do something like this (fire the wrong caliber)?
I wouldn't have thought the feed lips would hold it in or it would feed at all. Does your barrel have any dings in it from the 9mm bouncing around in it?

I was a similar retard when I somehow put 7mm Rem Mag shells in the sling of my .300 Win Mag durr rifle. I didn't pull the trigger that night, but I realized my fuck up when I was emptying my pockets back at home.
