Not very effective. Sure, the rounds are heavy enough to take out practically any sort of armor but you wouldn't be able to train your gun fast enough. If you get outflanked, you're dead.

Any doctorine that's going to use Tank Destroyers (or in this case, an artillery piece filling in for a TD) is probably going to be pretty heavy on setting up ambushes, and fast withdrawals. Hey folks, I've been saving up my money for either a NY compliant Saiga or AR. I don't plan on staying in NY (State, not city) for much more than another year or two but I still want another rifle for my collection soon.
The reason I'm leaning Saiga over AR is because compliant ones don't look like aborted abominations cobbled together, but I could be swayed one way or another.
I've been using my google-fu but alas every place I check seems to be sold out. Is it just because of Orlando and Dems throwing hissy fits? What's a good price...

So, I came across a ruger precision rifle at my LGS, and its going for $1,199, and i want this fucking thing, since i havent been able to find one anywhere else. They sold out of .308 rifles, but had .243 and 6.5 creedmoar RPRs.

I don't know shit about guns, so naturally this is the first place I come to for advice.
I recently moved to Nevada, and I was thinking about getting the Savage 11 Scout. I've done a tiny amount of research on it, as well as others. But I'd like to your opinions on the subject of a "first gun".
First gun, especially if you've never fired one, should ALWAYS be a bolt action .22lr. Always. Learn fundamentals, then move up to larger calibers when you actually have thw skill to use them to their full potential. Dont be that faggot that only ever shoots cans at 10 yards with your 800 dollar scout rifle.

It's not really going to matter what your first gun will be, unless you maybe plan to hunt with it.
You could afford more ammo if you got a rifle chambered in .223/5.56 like the Mini 14, AR-15, Remington 700, etc.

High attrition rate, questionable efficiency / effectiveness.
Inability to penetrate T-62s and up from the front AT ALL and most of the sides means difficult engagements that can't be done from the GAU-8's maximum range.
Engaging with the gun even at maximum range puts them in hatefucking range of prolific Russian SPAAGs and mobile AA, which they love using.

Recently got my wife into shooting which is great. And what's mine is hers when it comes to my funs. But now she wants to bring her friends to the range with us to play with our toys. Something about that makes me uncomfortable. Obviously lots of expensive hardware that I keep not only for fun but for self-defense if the need ever arises.
Is it weird to tell her not to invite people under the premise of using my guns?

Of course I share guns at the range -- provided the other person knows what they're doing.
Have her only invite a few people -- like one at a time, to join you at the range, so you can make sure that they follow the range rules, you can make sure they're not going to scope-bite themselves, control their brass, etc. and have a general good time.

I have two pic-related cartridge belts, 25 and 56 shell bandoliers, and an ALICE kit for other gear and M1a mags. I'm looking at adding a 357 revolver and an arming sword to the getup, but the sheer number of straps getting involved is making me look like some cheesy animu wannabe, not to mention it can't be good to have so many hangup points in the field. So, /k/, how do I cut down without loosing accessibility or capacity?
I could put a bayonet on the M1A, but transitioning from the 870, whose bullpup frame won't allow a lug mount, is a complication and...
