hey k this is a shout out so recently I made some home made armour out of 3 layers of .20 inch 6060 t10 aluminum and 3 layers of .20 Sheffield abrasion resistant poly carbonate along with 40 layers of aluminum oxide sandpaper and bonded it all together with a polyurethane epoxy and covered it in epoxied canvas. what do you think it can stop and who should I send it to test it as I currently am no guns due to college

1.2 inches of aluminum and plastic with a shit ton of sandpaper glued to it...

That could take .308 easily. I recommend going to a gun range and renting one and then use a stick to fire it into center mass on yourself.

What the fuck anon
>>

are you unfamiliar with polycarbonate in thick enough layers it is used in bank telling glass to stop bullets and fragments. the abrasion resistant polycarbonate is extra hard, I'm not using normal sandpaper but nylon based fabric ones that are much stronger. the aluminum is hardened that what the t 10 is for

Would you shoot a person trespassing on your land/ property?
22 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>30482418
Well, it depends on the circumstances
>>
>>30482429
This.
There's a difference between a home invasion and some hiker/hunter accidentally walking onto your land.
I would shoot someone if I found them to be a threat to the safety and security of my home and family.
>>
>>30482418
If she/he was visibly or evidently hurting my family yes.

I would hate to kill them by doing so, but it's a shame that I can be sued for defending my family's life.

>anon, you don't loctite your screws?
>why?

How do you respond? Why do you insist on putting things on your guns yet you won't loctite their screws?
34 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
>>30482319
But I do loctite my screws.
>>
things that need loctite get loctite, things that don't, don't.

scope base screws get a dab of blue, thats about it. proper torque is usually more than enough to secure 95% of parts and accessories.
>>
I have a torque screw driver.

I set all my scope ring screws to 30 pounds.

Who's shooting tomorrow?

Except for my holster because I can't find the damn thing so I'm using the one that came in the Essentials kit. Which is probably the best piece of gear from that.

I like USPSA/IPSC style shooting better, but IDPA are the friendliest group to shoot with. Besides any day shooting is pretty good.

I was referring to the fact that I believe it is physically impossible for people that IDPA/IPSC to fire their gun at a match until they have told at least 10 people they are about go to one.

I'm thinking of getting my first tattoo at 27. I've been considering for a while and have decided. What's a good price per hour or is it by size?id be willing to pay $250+ Hourly. Any tips on finding a good artist other than googling someone nearby.

Where ya from?? dif artists did prices. Some are better than others.

Hello /k/, I have a Mosin Nagant I'm refinishing (see the pic, left is before, right is currently). I had one or two questions if you'd be so kind as to help me out:

1) Purely opinion, I know, but should I stain it just a bit darker? Or leave it natural and just put the linseed oil on it?

2) I kinda want a scout style scope. Absolutely NO drilling on the receiver, I want to be able to put the gun back to stock within a few minutes. But I've seen the mounts that replace the rear sight. Any recommendations on a decent, cheap scope? I don't mind spending good money on optics, but it seems kinda silly on a gun I paid $99 for...

3) Anything else worth cleaning up/fixing/taking apart while I have the gun apart?

>>
>>30482103
Why do you want to scope it? Why not just get a rifle that can be scoped and actually be useful scoped?
>>
>>30482291
Mainly just because it's a cheap, fun gun that's dead cheap to shoot (I've got a big box of Russian surplus ammo). And also the "why the fuck not?" factor. That, and coupled with the fact that anything I do I want to be easily reversible, just more of a "because I can" kind of thing, I guess?
>>
jmeck mount doesn't require drilling, but requires you to remove the rear sight.

I'm not a United Statesian, but I literally see no reason to not move away from Commiefornia. You can do it withouth relatively much papwerwork and ten times better states are right around the corner.

And I'm not saying that you should move because you have like what, the second worst state gun laws (?), but the entire state seams to be cancer. Whenever I hear something bad about the US it is always from Cancerformia. State should be nuked 2bh.
>>
>>30481761
This. I really don't understand when /k/ommandos in Cuck states refuse to move. I mean dang guys...if you are an independent adult with job skills moving should be easy, why stay somewhere that makes your constitutional rights a felony and taxes you to death to bribe hordes of lazy minorities with welfare so they vote Blue?

A lot of family is here. And while I want to get the fuck out, my girlfriend really wants to stay. Even though we all realize this place is political shit.

It's really only the state government and the megacities. This state is fucking beautiful and there are a lot of job opportunities. But fuck LA and SF and their nanny-state smothering.

Okay /k/ let's make a rare interesting thread.
It's 2020, Trump is elected, and the American forces are pulled out of camp Bondtsteel in Kosovo, while the KFOR troops have served there mandate and have been pulled out.

After a election in Serbia, the Serbian Radical Party has come to power, and have began to mobilize and ready for war.

After a NATO restructure, all countries that could not meet the minimum of 2% annual defense spending have been kicked out of the alliance, this including the Serbian neighbor of Albania.

Your goal, as the Supreme Commander of the Serbian military is to secure the break away region of Kosovo, defend it from a Albanian counter attack, and then do a land invasion of the Albanian mainland, racing towards there capital, while sustaining minimal casualties.

For this case we will use the standing arsenal of Serbia, and not count on any war assistance from there Eastren friends, such as Russia and China.

As the successor state of Yugoslavia, Serbia retains most of the once impressive Arsenal, maintaining one of the top Ground and Air forces in the region (Which, is saying how sad all of the regional forces are, aside from Greece and the Turks.)

Your current assets are 52,000 Active Front Line Personnel. Some of which boast high veterancy, especially higher up in the Chain of Command. The active reserve is 170,000 men.

And the land zone of protection on the Kosovo state administrative line is 478 long and 3-5km wide of mostly mountainous and forested terrain.

With a total population of 7,176,794 (Excluding Kosovo for obvious reasons) and 2,755,000 fit for service.

Your operational land assets are 225 MBT's. The overwhelming majority being of the M84 variety, with about one company of T-72 Urals thrown in. To be noted is that there is another 50 T-72 Urals withdrawn for service, along with a similar number of T-72's. There is a considerable amount of mothballed T-55's in storage, the current number is unkown to the public, due to the mass sales of these tanks to African shitholes for a poor price. But, is estimated at a several hundred. (With at least 500 being sold in 2012.)
>>
>>30481734
The current amount of IFV's is 320 BVP M-80, with 200 being kept in reserve. The rest of the APC in use are made out of 200 BTR-50PK/PU, 32 MT-LB (Unkown amount in reserve), 58 BOV VP(Unkown amount in reserve) , and 120 BTR-60 , the number of these kept in reserve is unkown but most likely higher then the number in active service.Another notable asset of the ground forces is the BOV-1 which is fitted with 6xAT-3 missiles. Also known as the POLO.

A notable part of your land logistics is about 50ish Armoured recovery vehicles with a extra 25 bridge layers. 3500 Army Jeeps and light victors, 7000 Trucks and 400-550 engineer vehicles.

our self-propelled artillery consits of 72 2S1 Gvozdikas and 18 "Nora" B-52 with more being delivered every year. Towed Artilery is 86 M84 Nora, 36 M-46 Field guns, and 302 D-30 in active service, with a high amount in reserve. All guided by SNAR-10 Artilery radar.

About 84 MLRS in Service, with more coming into service every year most notably of the Morava and Orkan variety. (Smerch and upgraded Grad clones.)

/k/ I want to get a 9mm fun. I have a 92FS and a P229. I love 9mm and stockpile it in case of democrats. Adding a sub machine gun style weapon with a 30-40 round mag would be a cool addition. What kind of shit can I buy legally (I'm in Michigan). Basic rules are as follows right?
>minimum barrel length if it has a stock
>If short barrel and stock it requires expensive tax stamp and wait list thing

I don't want to do the wait list thing or whatever. What are my options?
>short barrel no stock (legally a pistol) and later when I have money get a stock for it and purchase tax thing
>get one of these long barrel weird things with stock but in 9mm (I don't prefer this because a weapon this large, I might as well get an AR)

The point is I don't want a rifle otherwise I'd simply get an AR, I want a compact 9mm.

Can a stock be purchased for this later on for example?
>>
buy an ar. make it into 9mm pistol and submit your paper work. wait a few months then add a stock. 9mm carbines are fun as shit but you really need to sbr worth while.
>>
Are forgrips illegal on pistols? Or can I get a stamp for that too?

>>30481680
Well isn't it more expensive to buy an AR then convert it? Wouldn't it be the same as getting a stamp then buying a straight up mpx with a stock?
