I'm either gonna get some 9mm +p advertised at 1225ft/sec or +p+ at 1300ft/sec
Is it better to not exceed +p?
Using on shield 9mm and glock 19
>manufacturing a Destructive Device
ATF pls go
>>28457054
what ammo? as far as I'm aware, hst doesn't come in +p+, so you're probably getting some stupid faggot shit.
Ballistics are going to be pretty much identical even comparing standard pressure rounds to +p. What are glocks rated for?
I'm a fan of a 147gr +p myself in carry guns.
Im an 18 yo Canadian that wants to join the army specifically (regular infantry) and would like to know from real military men if joining is worth it or not thanks.
Are you going reg or res?
The environment in reg infantry is far more professional compared to res. Weekend warriors tend to be immature as hell. Trust me, I know... I was in res.
Reg is far more competitive - so although it's not impossible to join when you're 18... you better have a competitive application or you won't be selected.
Is it worth it? Only you can answer that. I know some young kids who "tried" infantry in res then moved onto reg after many years.
Don't go combat arms, do a trade that will actually get you skills for your life out of the military if you don't want to be condemned to being a security guard

Thanks anon good shit
Hi /k/, I just got my Mak but it's covered in cosmoline. How do I clean this thing now?
boil it
put it in the oven at 450 for twenty minutes
>>28456784
soak it in a tub of mineral spirit
I'd love to talk about the weapons, tools and tactics of trench warfare. We all know it's a stupid ass way to fight a war, but it's damn interesting to me.
If you have any maps of trench styles that'd be awesome as fuck.
>>28456574
also, what part did naval conflict have in this global conflict?
Bumping because lately my coworkers and grandparents have been talking a lot about ww1, just kinda coincidence that's caught my attention
>>28456780
the eastern front is pretty interesting as well. Much more fluid in comparison with miles lost and won in days and hours
Hey guys I'm going to turn 21 soon and that means a lot of gun buying. I want to get a decent .22lr but I'm a poor fag. I checked the sticky but there's nothing on it about prices for .22lr could you guys help me find a cheap but fun rifle
10/22s have barely any noticeable differences. People will tell you to go for Rugers, and they're fine, but honestly just buy whatever you think looks good or fun and isn't out of your price range.
all the tactical 22s that look like other guns are overpriced piles of mediocracy

marlin 795 and 60 need to be switched
S&W Model 637 or S&W Model 60?
Looking for a carry weapon and prefer revolvers over semi-autos. Stuck between the two. Help me out, /k/?
.357 needs a longer barrel for optimal ballistics, unless you plan solely to use .38spcl+P you'll want the 60
I still say go with the 60 for aesthetics alone, that and snubbies are a bitch for range time
>>28455979
I'd like the option of using .357 or .38 special +P, but I don't see myself being in a realistic situation where .357 will ever be truly necessary.
>>28456165
it doesn't matter if you want .357 or not, a .357 round out of a barrel that small isn't going to give you the full power you want and theyre not fun to shoot anyway
id opt for the 60 myself because theyre classic

Put aside the shitty story and the crappy youtube use should people that think or peform the actions that the character portrayed in the story be allowed to purchase and own a firearm?
Honest question here should the person that begins to think and do actions that would deem questionable be actually allowed to own a gun or should the person be discarded from going near a firearm?
Should it be the family and friends to have the final say on rather or not the person that they know would be trusted mentally and emotionally to own...

As the spokesperson of /k/ you are mentally and emotionally inadequate to own or buy a firearm of any kind whatsoever because you are a faggot.

Is this in russia?
Alright /k/, cause there is a Battleship design thread going on, lets make a aircraft design thread.
Following Classifications of Aircraft will be built:
Attack(yes you A-10 fanboys can stick your dick in this thread)
Bomber
Fighter
Multirole(>inb4 F-35 derailment)
Recon
Interceptor
Ideas that appeal to me the most shall be constructed to the best of my ability in Kerbal.

Damn, the Corsair is sexy. Well, now I have to play Xenonauts again.
>>28455565
Tiny wings, with a fuckhuge engine and a vulcan.
No canards and tailplane up on rudder.
Make it around 1m across.
That should make a good interceptor, and If you cant take off under 350km/h you're doing it wrong.
>>28455565
Bumping, good thread IMO
Hello, /k/. /pol/ here with a quick question.
Best handgun for a 6'5 man with a rather large hand. I've tried a few and they handle rather horribly. Also, any suggestions on revolvers like pic related?
>mfw I told my dad I want too get a Taurus Judge and he said it's a novelty gun.
Your weight/size has nothing to do with how capable you are of controlling a handgun.
Look for S&W .357 Magnums, just about any will perform fine so it's more about what frame size you like and your budget. Physically handle a firearm in a store and preferably at a range before you buy.
Prepare for the shitstorm you have brought upon yourself.
>>28455407
I dont disagree, i've heard bad things. Just something similar, they seem interesting.
>>28455422
The smaller the handgun, the more awkward it feels in my hands. I can handle it just fine, but the best way to compare it is using an off-brand controller instead of the ones that come with the console.
shit analogy, but yeah.
Is the supersonic interceptor dead for good? It seems that close air support is the flavor of the month.
here is some glorious Starfighter howl

How hard would it be, theoretically, to either convert or reverse engineer a gun from a small 5.56 caliber to a larger caliber (like .308 or 6.5 creed). I'm not thinking AR, I'm actually thinking RDB. I understand if have to basically re-manufacture it from the ground up, but I was wondering if it would be at all feasible (assuming kel-tec doesn't make one first). This would be a pet project more than anything else so yeah, just curious about what EXACTLY would need to happen.
Considering that soon I'll be going to school and taking machining classes...

Sure. Start with a block of aluminum about a foot long, about three inches wide, and about five inches tall. Cut away everything that doesn't look like your dream weapon. Don't fuck up, 'cause you'll have to start over.
I'm looking at more constructive ideas that would actually assist this project idea.
>>28454764
You'd be better off with an RFB, since that's designed around the 308.
My mom hates guns and thinks only cops should have them. She knows nothing about the laws or guns though. I think it's totally wrong for just cops to have guns. What should I say to her?
>>28453911
rape her
Nothing you say will persuade her, so why say anything?
>>28453911
Put a loaded gun on the table, then start raping her and tell her to leave the gun and call the police for help.
So what exactly are the merits of a striker fire vs a hammer fired?
In my limited knowledge it just seems like striker fired would be more simple and has less that could go wrong.
Is it harder to make the sears work for a striker than a hammer or something? Since there's less to grab on to?
Are there any striker fired semi-auto rifles? Every one I know of is hammer fired. Why is that?
In pistols, strikers are mechanically simpler.
Most bolt action rifles are striker fired.
A couple semi-auto / full auto rifles like the VZ58 and the AS VAL / VSS rifles. But in rifles it's questionably simpler because the striker requires an additional guide rod. A semi auto bolt usually doesn't extend back to where the trigger group is. There's also something some people call a "linear hammer" which is exactly the same except with a separate firing pin, the linear hammer doesn't directly hit the primer.
Also ignore anyone...

So can you decock a glock an be able to fire it like that?
Can you decock a glock at all?
What are some "linear hammer" guns?
>>28454223
Type 97 for sure plus I think one of the VSS or AS Val family rifles uses linear hammer(possibly the vikhr).
Picture is type 97 bolt and linear hammer in a fired position. Above is guide rail and hammer spring.
