1. Have composite image.
2. Have background image.
3. Obtain foreground image.
How?
Wanted result.
The inverse procedure (classic blending) is very simple:
r3 = r1 × α1 × (1 – α2) + r2 × α2 × (1 – α1),
g3 = g1 × α1 × (1 – α2) + g2 × α2 × (1 – α1),
b3 = b1 × b1 × (1 – α2) + b2 × α2 × (1 – α1),
α3 = α1 × α2, ← I’m not sure about this.
α3 = α1 × (1 – α2) + α2 × (1 – α1), ← Perhaps this?
...where:
rgbα1 = background pixel,
rgbα2 = foreground pixel,
rgbα3 = composite pixel.

Trying to break through (get a job) as an entry-level web designer / developer / graphic designer, so I made a bunch of static web page templates to show off my skills.

I would change the tone of green you're using
Right now it doesn't meet WCAG2 standards for legible contrast
Try a darker shade of green
>>259032
I appreciate your consideration. It's true, shade of the accent color I've chosen doesn't fully satisfy me whenever I look over the page and you gave me a good technical explanation why it could be so.
At the same time I want just that right bright cyan-green color value cuz it looks so fresh imo. I'm a little afraid that a darker tone would look too dull.
Wow, I really like those websites, OP. Good job. Seeing them makes me realize how much I still have to learn.
But you might want to correct pic related. I'm on a 1024x600 netbook and this is what Spark looks like.
Do we love Gotham?
>>258166
got ham?
Hell yeah
Fun fact: Proxima Nova was first!
I love both tho
are any of you employed?
what's your position?
well you see i'm a designer
An advertising agency which specializes in annual reports.
I'm a freelancer with social anxiety, so I have an agent. Agent gets percent of all the work.
Way better than getting $15 an hour like I used to.
Arial or Helvetica?

They are close enough that I don't think any normal person would give a shit.
>>257700
Helvetica. I like the lower-case a.
Fuck that modern rubbish Akzidene-Grotesk is what you want.

Get the gate right.
The gate is everything.
Add small herds of dinos running around.
I'm not sure what's keeping the dinosaurs from destroying the buildings either.
Are they in the enclosure? Is there an enclosure? Those Pterodactyls fuck people up and they're just casually flying around (until they see someone). That watchtower by the lake won't keep people safe.
Hi there /g/raphic designers. Pic related is my desktop, and I'm interested to see if I turn it into a larger-size print for my wall.
As you can see, the pic itself would fit fully on a 14- or 15" computer screen (I have a 13" laptop so it's a bit big for my desktop). Ideally, I would like to scale it up to 3x the length and width for hanging on a wall.
>Is this possible?
>Is this a good idea?
>If yes for both, who would I go to to make it happen?
>>258960
I should add that this is the highest-res version of this pic out there that I can find through tineye and the other reverse image searchers
Meh, you could do it but I doubt it'll look good. It's about 1700x1000 right now, three times is going to give you A3 size, it's not going to look nice blown up to that size.
If you find a higher res picture, I usually print stuff like that at a copyshop, If theres a university where you live there should also be one of those.
Choose thicker paper.

how would it look on a canvas print?
>be graphic design student
>5 days to design a resume
>spend 3 sketching
>come up with an idea
>bring it into indesign
>idea is awful
>had the idea to use colors to create rhythm and bring attention to center of resume
>not enough room to write resume info
>literally no design elements used...

>>258396
no that is only half butthole
>>258397
Is the primary font shit? Or is it that the logo doesn't fit the fonts?
>>258398
The logo gets lost in the text, I wasn't sure what it was until I looked at the bottom left image of it by itself.
Hello I work for a company that deliver food and they use this shitty logo. How would you re-create it?
Start over
>>258127
I didnt make it.
>>258123
that's really ugly.
but i think this one is worse.
So, Im thinking about going back to school for GD. I don't know too much about it, but how steep is the learning curve?
I took me about 30 minutes to make this. Also, does it matter what kind of school I go to?
>>257065
Just take a cheap class at a community college, learn the fundamentals. The rest you can learn online + practice.
Speaking of fundamentals the tree line is too close to the center and the left mountain peak is too close to the top of the image. The mountains would be much more interesting if they were less uniform/symmetrical.
>>257065
I feel as though you're deliberately wasting our time with your post, and I can't quite put my finger on as to why.
>>257079
Probably because he just ripped off that image for that Firewatch game, and felt like it was different enough to call his own.
The fact that he had to spell out the time he took to make it only adds to the problem. No one gives a fuck. I don't know if he expects us to be impressed, or cut him slack because he didnt feel like he should put the effort in to make it good.
All that, and there's a dedicated thread for questions like these.
hey guys, a little while ago i posted here about making my first ever poster fr my first ever assignment for my first ever print design class. i ended up jerking off for most of the week and only completing in the day it was due.
Teacher hasnt seen it yet so im here asking for your guys' opinion. Is this a fail? I know i couldve done better with the photoshop but i was running out of time (i know thats not an excuse)
