101 KB,
Okay, so I was trying something in Ai before just to learn how to do it and to get familiar with the program. I didn't think the task I chose was hard and that it is a good idea for learning the basics. However, I cannot find anything useful on the Adobe page since I have no idea what to look for. When I try, their names for tools and workflows are confusing to me and, ironically, it is not really well illustrated. I have failed so often now that I am fucking mad. I really need someone to explain the best practice how to accomplish this:

I used the letter W that...

damn blog. tldr? did you tried with a 3d software? you can do it with c4d in seconds (spline + extrude nurbs or sweep nurbs) however illustrator 3d extrude & bevel could give more control.

Not my first language so I kind of scrambled. Anyway, I found the solution how to do it. Line tool to "connect" the paths (although they are still both seperate entities then).
Then Pathfinder, divide the shapes and you're pretty much done alread except for the color. Found multiple ways but none of the others worked consistently for each part of the letter. Don't know if this is the best practice, though.

Also thanks for your suggestion but this is mostly about learning to work with paths,...

Oh boy, 15 whole dollars? What a tempting offer, I better get in early to take hold of this deal.

Pro tip: $15 isn't even worth an hours time to someone.
>>
>>273471
I'm looking for some outsourcing work for a shitty website. Someone with good ideas might be able to throw something together in 5-10 minutes.

I'll add another $5 to this offer.
>>
>>273470
Honestly not worth the time for most people that aren't complete noobs. You should've just posted the job in the OP and hoped someone pitied you enough to throw something together.

I've been thinking about sending out a VERY GOOD Microsoft Powerpoint presentation to different marketing and graphic design places in my area. Is this a good idea? Something short that can fit on a floppy disk so maybe five or so pages. I also wanted to add in some extremely sick slide transitions and the "boing" noise when the slide goes.

Thoughts? Will I stand out from the crowd in this highly competitive and cut-throat market?

>powerpoint presentation
professional agencies use Macs, which cant run Microshit files

>floppy disk
professional agencies dont use computers from the 80s, so they cant even read your files

if you really want to impress use after effects instead of pp.

How on earth could any of us verify that we do to any degree of satisfaction that we're not cat fishing or trolling, without opening ourselves up to spam or abuse?

And more importantly, who cares? We're shitty because design molds us to be through disappointment, resentment, jealousy, and overwhelming feelings of inadequacy, regardless of actual skill level or demonstratable merit.

114 KB,
This is about design in general. The last years I've been to many seminars and courses about interface design, industrial design, etc. and every single one of them tought me that the Dieter Rams/Braun design as well as Apple design is probably the only good way of design. White, minimalistic, clean and edged.

What do you think about it? If everything is designed in that way, wouldn't it be pretty boring, cold and without any connection to a culture (depending on the location).

The more I look at all those Dieter Ram's style products, the more tired...

I get your point but I think you may be taking the courses a bit too literal. You shouldn't just do the same thing that Rams did, but you should take his design philosophies in account, I think they are saying.
I agree that saying everything should be designed according to any specific philosophy is detrimental to the industry as a whole though.

Pic unrelated. It does show that within the same philosophy you can have a lot of variation.

Hey /gd/

I need help regarding Movie Studio 13 Platinum. I know this is /gd/ but i thought your skills could might be helpfull.

I need to add a countdown timer on a black screen in Movie Studio.
Something like " 30:12:45:12 ", need to count down and stop at a particular point.

Any ideas?

I searched videos for hours but i couldnĀ“t find something helpful

>>273423
there's an option on sony vegas for countdown timers maybe try it and/or render it with transparent background or alpha channel and import it on movie studio.
>>
>>273426
i tried it. i also tried to determine the time code at the end of the timeline. but all that happens is the timeline itself gets expanded. For example at the end of my time code i need to have the timecode to begin with 28: - so what movie studio does is displaying it in hours which would be 04:06:40,270.

I tried other displaying options but none of them helped. ...
>>
>>273428
what about if you fake it? for example you start with the first 2 numbers and move on to the others on after effects it shouldn't be that hard however it could take a while to animate each manually.
