So I just picked up DC Rebirth but I don't know much about comic books. I went with someone to a midnight release and figured why not give it a chance.

It's a fix-fic for a lot of mistakes they made when they launched the New 52.
The New 52 was when they reset all their continuity from a general starting point (5 years into most heroes' careers). In doing so, a lot of characters who hinge on existing after that timeline (some sidekicks and other very popular heroes) were neglected.
There's also this running them of an overly dark universe since the New 52 started that they also seem to be addressing.

So now that the flash season 2 finale has ended with flashpoint, does that mean that the arrow timeline will be wiped and we will no longer have to deal with felicity?
In theory it could but the people in charge don't see anything wrong with what's going on now so they won't change anything.
No. If they were going to have Arrow tie into this at all, they missed the boat. They should have done Flashpoint as a midseason thing so that they could do an Arrow episode tying into it, but now there's no way they'll make the season premiere of Arrow's next season some weird standalone non-canon thing that has fuck all to do with the rest of the season.
And you'd have to be an idiot to think they'd actually reboot the whole show just because of a Flash plot that probably won't even last more than a few episodes in its own show.

He landed in sand, which sure, realistically probably doesn't mean jack shit.
But audiences imagine it's soft and gives, so they buy it the same way they buy it when Scrooge McDuck swims in gold coins.
When characters start crossing over, their strength moves towards the median.
It's why Batman goes from having trouble with a skinny guy holding a knife to taking on Darkseid, or why Flash goes from light speed to the speed of a car.
That whole scene with Rhodey was bullshit. Either Rhodey should've been fine with the fall or Tony should've been fast enough. No excuse.
I was fine with the suits being shit when I remembered Tony saying they were really holding back, but Tony sure as hell wasn't holding back then.

I don't get why his Flash is so beloved? He wrote Wally without any personality and basically focused on the rogues the entire time. And all of the dialogue between the rogues is samey. I did like his Zoom arc though.
I'm looking for examples of other heroes' stance on the mutant issue? Out side of Uncanny Avengers I can't really think of or remember a book about a non mutant hero having an opinion or more accurately a public opinion on mutants in general. It would seem like some support from the hero community would go along way to improving their image. It seems perhaps unintentionally that other heroes choose not to get caught up in the argument and play it kind of neutral.
