I've written storyboards/scripts/character models/music for an entire 3-season cartoon series in secret for all of my life, and I've been working on my first full-length comic book; around 300 pages, but I've recently been losing faith and interest in any kind of fictional storytelling and find it to be super lame.
I've been deleting all the files each day, and I've thrown out a lot of the notebooks. Almost everything is gone.
Can anyone restore/further ruinmy faith in cartoons/comics?
Umbrella Academy at least partially restored my faith. I remembered to, you know, just have fun with writing.

To my eyes, new outstanding writing talent seems to be somewhat infrequently found.
What does the future hold?
I feel like another "invasion" is possible if good writers from non-English speaking countries are paired with good translators or the writers themselves learn to write English well.
There's seems to be SO much talent on the art side from tons of different places. I'm convinced that the same is true for writing -- it's just that there's a very obvious language barrier which can make GOAT-tier writing easy to skip.
It isn't required.
And I hope something like what you are describing doesn't happen again because comics have taken a long enough time to climb out of the Writer driven trench that period created that the last thing we need is more writer driven 'movements'
