Getting real sick of this current art and writing trend in cartoons. With a couple of exceptions, we're starting to get as stagnate as the old Hannah Barbara days.

No, fuck that meme, this is literally all of Adventure Time's fault. Pen Ward popularized hiring web comic artists to write for a storyboard driven show who can only write characters as le quirky and "talks like my best friend" rather than hiring cartoonists who were good at character-driven and visual humor.
You can say Flapjack started the trend, but at least Thurop Van Orman was a strong enough director to still give his show a unique style rather than just being "quirky".
Well, youre right about Adventure Time starting this style of cartooning.
Ever since it first hit the screen every other show took up after it in certain areas.
