Paramount Pictures andHasbroare embarking on a new universe of interrelated characters and stories. The studio — which is already in the process of expanding itsTransformersuniverse after four movies based on that popular Hasbro toy line — is announcing a new deal with Hasbro on Tuesday that will see Paramount and Allspark Pictures, Hasbro’s film label, build an interconnected, cross-property onscreen universe, featuring characters from five of Hasbro’s other brands: G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) and ROM.
Allspark Pictures will produce the films, and Brian Goldner, Hasbro chairman, president and CEO, Hasbro exec vp and chief content officerStephen Davis, Hasbro head of film development Josh Feldman are working with Paramount to shape the new universe from the five properties. Just as has been done withTransformers, where Akiva Goldsman led a writers’ room to develop further installments in that franchise, Hasbro and Paramount plan to assemble a writers’ room, comprised of top talent, to develop a creative roadmap.

The only action oriented shows that will always exist are TMNT and Transformers at this rate since their fanbases are heavily based on toys to begin with, the core audience of capeshit in terms of mass appeal is live action now where back in the day there weren't that many live action cape flicks so cartoons were rampant

Veteran Supergirl writer Sterling Gates will be penning the new title, which will be drawn by a cast of rotating artists including Bengal, Jonboy Meyers, Emanuela Lupacchino, and Emma Vieceli. This 13-chapter, bi-weekly comic will release on Mondays, which just happens to be the same day the show airs on CBS. DC also told us that she will take on classic villains like Rampage, Vril Dox, and Psi.
Digital tie-in comics are nothing new for DC’s TV shows. Both Arrow and The Flash have ongoing digital titles that fill in the gaps before/after seasons, plus Smallville enjoyed a healthy run that continued the show after its TV series finale...
