Varrick was a good concept and the way he was drawn (his "acting," expressions etc.) were top notch, besides his voice actor being great, but he was poorly written and shoehorning him into the last season as a genius inventor when he was previously only a savvy businessman only served to magnify the flaws of the Kuvira storyline.

Varrick was by far the best part of Book 2 but I agree he wasn't well written in Book 4. I hate that he was turned into a good guy - one of the things I loved about him was he was a genuinely charming goofy guy who was also an amoral greedy dick. It's rare to see villains like that.
It'll always bug me that Varrick, who did a lot of terrible things, got off completely free while characters who were as bad or not as bad than him were severely punished. I guess being a war profiteer is lower...

Are people actually surprised DCYou failed? They released like 30 new titles and only one of them was a bonafide sales hit in the form of Justice League of America.
Surprise surprise, DC has been putting out experimental low-selling titles like Omega Men out for years. Turns out books like that just don't sell and basing your ENTIRE Summer roll-out around them was fucking retarded.

The failure of DC You is a stark reminder that the majority of people who buy big two comics are fucking morons who want to be fed big name reboots and events all-year round.
DCYou failed because Convergence burned retailers so badly they didn't want to order more DC books and because DC has the most fucking retarded marketing team that has ever existed.

I feel super bad for Olds. This update really nails home something I've thought about this character for years. He's literally Doc, with his experiences and memories of childhood, growing up, and being an adult in college. He really has been ejected from the life he deserved, through simple bad timing. Seeing the character himself recognize that tragedy is heartbreaking, even in a comic as absurd as Dr. McNinja.

Young Justice, Beware the Batman, Green Lantern the Animated Series, Batman the Brave and the Bold and BTAS were all created by Mattel to shill there DC merchandise (technically they paid WB to make the cartoons and told them what to advertise)

What were the differences between Disney Doug and Nickelodeon Doug?

Disney's Doug was a show about change. Things changed. Characters changed. Doug had to cope with all of that. It was by design, but because Disney's Doug is lost media, nobody has watched it in years.
Kids who hated it because it was different grew up hating it, and can't go back to see how wrong they were.
Doug was in Middle School, Roger was a millionaire, Skeeter's honking noises were a result of a mental disorder, several episodes expanded on Doug's involvement with FOXHOUND, they had the Sheng Gong Wu from the previous season but had their names changed due to copyright reasons, Doug had a baby brother called Doog, Skeeter became a Black Panther, The inside of Doug's house was made out of human body parts, Patty was a ghost all the time and had organic webshooters, Riceballs became Donuts, Quailman snapped Roger's neck and the series ended in a Jonestown-esque...
