I don't think Marvel even decided on what this "act of war" against the inhumans was. They probably knew they couldn't come up with anything that would satisfy readers, so they went with nothing. No one could argue against that like they had in AvX.
I think the x-books will continue to tank until the Apocalypse event, and maybe even during. Once the sales drop after the event, they will bring back Cyclops as another short lived sales gimmick.

Unfortunately they were always taken over by fotm fandoms, but they were still fun. The guy who did the last 4 was chased off by vocal naysayers spamming every thread with demands for changes. You could make an argument for why certain things didn't belong, but spamming every thread (including long after votes have been accounted for) is just obnoxious, and in the grand scale of things this is just a passion project for fun anyway. The original guy should have put his foot down, and was a bit of a pussy blaming everybody for making his time hard when it was actually less than 50/50, but he still carried it up for 5 years. You can ignore the threads if you want, but "protesting" them just ruins it for people who liked the awards.
