How did gems evolve a fusion ability, and how are they even able to do it?
I think it started out as a beneficial relationship in pre-sentience gems, then those gems joining themselves through simultaneous shapshifting or reformation. But this seems half-assed.
Their "bodies" are energy projections that they can consciously manipulate, it follows that two or more gems could cooperatively support one projection if they're appropriately synchronized.
Given that at least some gem classes have very little sense of individuality (as with Rubies), and that same-class fusion is the primary (if not only) type of fusion on Homeworld, it seems like fusion would be a fairly natural occurrence to have happened on accident. Just look at how easy it was for the three Rubies to fuse in The Answer, now imagine some incident...

My question is how the fusions have names. On homeworld, fusion between two different gems types must not happen all that often since it's deemed 'unnatural' by gem society. So when a fusion between two different gems is formed (that as far as its two or more components are aware of has never been attempted) does the fusion automatically know it's name or does it create it's own? This has been bothering me ever since "The answer," and its overall not very important but I can't help but wonder.
Is this a sign from SEGA and/or Archie comics that they hate the memes?

Firstly, I don't think you can say "they hate the memes" when they are very clearly using the meme in the comic.
Secondly, Silver's memes are the best! They're great because every time someone hears it they get reminded of the sad hilarity that was Sonic 2006, and because nobody uses them outside of when talking about Silver.
