So it's finally out here. And I believe this movie is underrated among these parts.
I can see that it's not good as 2, but that shouldn't mean it's bad. I'd argue it's as good as 1, if not better.
I think the problem is that it's not very emotional (it has some emotional scenes but not as much as 2 and 1) and for some odd reason people think a cartoon that isn't emotional = bad. And that well, it's a bit "anime" in story structure, but I'd argue it's because it's how usual martial arts/progression is seen in Eastern storytelling, where the person eventually gains transcendence.
Some complaints I heard is that Po is "incompetent" again, which isn't true. He pretty much is strong and enduring, and the only threat to him was Kai, and even then he showed smarts for once. Some say the jokes are bad but I thought it was hilarious, especially some of the delivery like "There is so much wisdom I can't find what I'm looking for!"
And the movie is very Chinese in motif too. And people argue he "learned chi in 2", but he didn't.

It is a good movie but 1 and 2 was amazing so ultimately it was a letdown. I expected much more. It seemed more like an episode from a series than a movie. The pandas were weak. The villain was boring. It was like Tai Lung except nobody knew him so he wasn't threatening.
Shame. After 2, I really hoped they can make it the perfect animated trilogy.
Whenever I read any of Hal's speech bubbles, I always interpret him as sounding like Karl Urban.

Many, if not all of the storyboards Frederator uploaded for early AT back in the day were rough cuts, complete with cut jokes/ scenes
Onto the OP one, just posting one single storyboard doesn't make the rest of it "good," if they weren't chosen, there was probably something wrong with either their pacing, writing, or many other factors that go into hiring someone who will not only be drawing out every single thing that happens in an episode, but also writing all the dialogue. Quality of art alone doesn't make a good storyboard artist, especially on a board-driven show like AT.

And yet most of the time the world is just the same everyday world we live in today. Well what the fuck why wouldn't shit be ridiculously advanced. Its like every super hero is living a hundred and fifty years in the future and just didn't fucking bother updating anyone else.

Does anyone else think its time for Pixar to go away? Disney has outclassed them for a few years now. The Good Dinosaur being a flop just shows the writing on the wall.
It's redundant for Disney to have two CGI animation studios. Wouldn't it be better for Pixar to close and for Disney to absorb (most) of the staff?

John Lasseter's original plan was to have Disney alternate between CGI and traditional, but Winnie the Pooh bombing put an end to that. Lasseter seems to really care about it, though, so they might make another attempt sometime next decade.

Miracleman started out as Marvelman, an old UK comics character "inspired" by Captain Marvel (Fawcett Comics' Cap Marvel, now called Shazam). "Inspired" meaning "tremendously ripped-off." He had everything that Billy had, from the magic word that turned him into a hero to the extended family of Kids and Juniors.
Then, in the 80s, Alan Moore reimagined him for an anthology called Warrior, giving him a new gritty, introspective, compelling story. It was later reprinted for the US as MiracleMan for legal reasons and after Moore left the strip, Neil Gaiman jumped in to continue it. But then it got tangled into a major legal quagmire involving Gaiman, Todd McFarlane, Image Comics and a bunch of other players. After a lot of back and forth Marvel finally cleared out all the legal issues and are able to reprint it, although on Moore's request they have erased his name from the book and sent all the royalties to the family of MarvelMan's original writer/artist.
Anyway, it's good stuff. Anything by Alan Moore (or as Marvel has it, "The Original Writer") and Gaiman is good.
