About to watch Rise of the Guardians for the first time. Wish me luck.
I wouldn't call it a bad film looking at it as a standalone piece, but when you discover the source material and the much cooler concepts from the earlier drafts, the movie's flaws get magnified and you just see all the Wasted Potential.

It used to be (and still is?) the sole point of distinction between a "nerd" and a guy in Superman shirt: the first one has read and memorized the issue # of the first appearance of Rainbow Kryptonite & all of its effects on Supes or the 1st meeting between Superman and Umrial of Henn-Z, the second one just thinks the emblem looks cool.
Even the Marvel movies grossed their billions solely on the promise of continuity even if they rarely deliever. Contiuity is essentially experiences and relationships, and what the hell IS more important in what essentially is a soap opera with some badly drawn punching.
