How can you enjoy superman-centric stories?
I would understand if he was used more as a plot device ala 'we need to get superman here' as if he was a weapon or tool to be utilized by the heroes, but a guy that lives a near perfect life who can practically be defeated by barely anyone be compelling?

It's uplifting to see someone who sees so much ugliness in the world remain hopeful and idealistic and kind. It's compelling to see someone with the power to put his boot on the collective throat of the world, instead try to help it and defend it and strive to inspire it into self betterment.
Even in scenarios like Truth where he lost his powers and was vulnerable, living a far from perfect life, there he was, still putting himself on the line to help those in need.
You watch the news for 5 minutes and its very easy to become afraid of your own shadow. Hal Jordan taught me not to give into the fear, but Superman helps me believe that things aren't as bad as they may seem, and that even when they aren't all that great, that they can get better. He's like a perpetual breath of fresh air.

I am, I want to know /co/'s general opinion.
Can we have a discussion about the comic book industry and how it can appeal to mass market (disinterested and not invested, those who would read a comic in the bathroom, on a plane, and move on with their lives).
It seems that anything outside of Marvel, Vertigo, and DC doesn't appeal to the mass market except comic strips (you name em). Dark Horse sells to the hardcore gamer niche and I would argue that image still doesn't have mass market appeal.
I think this is a result of not enough marketing and not enough accessible content (I love MouseGuard, but sales show that the majority).
I'm trying to come up with ways in which comics can be marketed that will gain traction (featured on mass media news not comic related news for example - which is very difficult to do).
Do any of you have any useful ways of marketing comics to the mass market? In terms of content, what content do you think the artists and writers should focus on?
Make it cheaper, make it easier to get them, stop doing stupid shit. Sell comics from kiosks in movie theaters during the movies, with printed addresses on where to get more.
Get some commercials going, whether it be on television or just on youtube/web banners.
Diversify comics, not with race/color, but with content. Stop just pushing capes, invest in other genres and people will buy them.

Cape movies are at its' all time peak with Infinity Wars and Justice League part 2 in 3 years. I don't think anything can top these, as IF p1 and p2 will have a production budget of 1 billion.
In the end, if normies are still not picking up these comics for movies they love, despite the trend of cape movies in pop culture, nothing will. Comic book readers for the DC/Marvel audience won't even make the 1%.

Of ALL the people they could of chose! Morrison, Dini, Timm, King, even Miller. Warner Bros picked the WORST Batman writer who doesn't even like the character and hasn't read his comics (except for Under the Hood). I can't wait for Batman to step on evidence, constantly fall down, and get beaten by fat old men and need saving from Alfred.
And really? Red Hood and Joker? First of all, Under the Hood is the worst story ever and has been done to death already. The only way this could be worse is if they pull another Arkham Knight and try to hide Red Hood again. Red Hood is boring. Stop trying to make him happen.
And the Joker? Again? Why not someone new like Mr Freeze (oh right, Johns hates Mr Freeze because he's more popular than Captain Cold).
