Was this a Japanese company that did this animating? I recall there being at least one that had this sort of style but for the life of me I can't remember.

but like anything else of its sort (DnD comes to mind), it's more fun to do as pure freeform imagination instead of buttoned down with structure. if i want structure i'll play a videogame.

Limitations breed creative scenarios. The structure allows for a third element outside of the control of players and GMs allowing for moments that surprise both parties. The structure also allows for more interactive play between people who may not know each other. Freeform works best with a group of people that already click. Structured allows for more variety, or at least more functional variety.
That said the over-structuring of many modern ttrpgs does kind of suck.

I like gumball and SU, and clarence.
For me it's still Adventure Time even with all the shit it's pulled. I care too much to let go and even at its worst it does shit that's too interesting for me to stop caring.
Gumball's alright, never could get into it that much though.
Gumball used to be my favorite but the last couple seasons just weren't good. They didn't have the charm and jocosity as the first couple seasons.
Now the only CN show I watch is Clarence.

I've seen 3 episodes of this show and they were all weird and rubbed me the wrong way.

It was pretty solid though I could never get into the art style
The mandate for 2-parters added a lot of padding into the stories, I found JLU a lot tighter since they could make things short if nessesary.

Any specific reason they forced episodes into two parts? It does seem to drag early on.
There are a few great episodes in JL, but yeah, once JLU hits, it's gold.

Well, I was gonna take advantage of the deals but my friends want to go to those Funko Shops that coincidentally also participates in FCBD. I mean yeah they have comics, but it's not as huge as their stocks of those little vinyl paperweights. I guess they have some X-Men comics on sale too?
I'm probably gonna go to an actual LCS later on and pick up a good Flash or Superman trade. I'm also hoping to get Suicide Squad Vol 1 or Waid's Flash run.
