How do we fix the horror genre?
How can there never be a good horror series that's actually spooky? The closest ones that tried were Yami-Shibai and Ghost Hunt.
All the rest are either action horror (Highschool of the Dead) horror romance (50 billion different series) or secret cooking shows (Another.)
Why can the Japs make the scariest horror games, books, films and manga, but be completely inept when it comes to spooky animu?

Mine goes like this:

An anime about two 12 year old syrian refugees - a brother and sister. They're tasked with escaping to safety after their city had been taken over by the terrorists. They manage to steal a document from one of the terrorists that that could lead to the end of the war.
On their way to safety, they barely dodge the countless bullets that are shot to them. When hiding, they do borderline-haram stuff - like bathing together in a river, touching eachother's bodies, incest, etc...
Eventually, they get to Turkey. There, they meet a Christmas Cake, which is also a high-ranking member of Turkey's government. She feels sorry for them and decides to take care of them. They hand the document over to her once they trust her, and this iswhere season 1 ends.
