you know, the more I think about this film, the more obvious it becomes that it is simply studio ghibli's best film.
no other story even comes close to the level of depth, the artistry is on a completely different level, the pacing is perfect ... it may not be as flashy but I feel like it represents everything great about the studio and will be remembered as their best when all is said and done.

Piccolo and Krillin are the main candidates in my opinion.
For Piccolo the only thing I can think of would be some other warrior Nameks somewhere fuse with him. That's generally how his power ups are handled. Can't really think up another way other than him like fusing with porunga or Shenron maybe?
As for Krillin.
If Dr.Gero can make two punk kids with no prior ki training into fighters that surpass 100% full powered Frieza (pre-golden of course) and Bulma and her father are quite literally two of the smartest people on the planet....
I see no reason why Bulma can't reverse engineer Gero's techniques and probably improve upon them on other humans.
