So, I am a PC gamer, and just recently my laptop finally gave up on me. I tried to get it back, but it was forever stuck in the Windows 8 start-up loop.
My father gave me his old computer, which he used mostly to play WOW, so I thought it would be a good computer. Oh boy, was I wrong.
It runs smooth and all, 4GB of RAM and an old Intel Pentium CPU. However, I came to notice that while talking to a friend that the mic auto muted itself.
It used to do this about once a day, but recently has been very frequent. Recently, as a kind of fix, I put the games I play into windowed mode so I can un-mute my mic quickly.
I just thought it was doing this to my mic plugged into the front mic port, so I bought a Blue Snowball. I came to find that it even mutes USB mics.
The audio driver installed physically into the computer is an ancient 2005 Realtek HD Audio Driver.
I have the money to buy a new one, but I am too sure that that is the problem. I have done several virus scans with the full version of AVG, but no threats come up (except for the occasional java exploit).
Please help if you can.

Nuke the hard drive, grab a copy of Windows 7, and install it. Use Daz Loader if you don't have a spare unused key. It should recognize all the devices in your computer out of the box if it's that old. This should at least get rid of whatever malware, broken drivers, and other crap may be lurking on there.

In anime, are there names for certain animation styles? For example, I really like the animation style in the Pokemon Origins mini series.
Tbh, I want this information so i can look up hentai in that animation style, but I don't want you guys to post hentai, just the name of the animation style, therefore it is a worksafe request.

You may want to look up directors, storyboarders, and keyframe animators to some extent. I don't think you get very far otherwise.

Hey /wsr/ a friend of mine has been having some problems with his monitor and getting games to properly display and now his monitor is completely blank, even at start up. So I'm posting this for him.
"So I was fucking around trying to get this shitty LCD TV to work as a temporary monitor before I buy a new one to replace the one that broke. It was working fine for vidya, then it only started working for Rainbow Six Siege and Skyrim at 1920x1080. Every other game I tried to run at that resolution just made the monitor go blank and say "please change computers screen resolution." It's a Phillips TV. So I tried to fuck around and see what went wrong and went into the display options for the new AMD Crimson drivers. I went to scaling and set it to preserve aspect ratio and the screen just went black and the same text popped up. I tried hitting escape to revert changes but it didn't work. I rebooted and the screen is doing it at the startup screen."
He's using Windows 10 too, whether that is affecting things I'm unsure.

No, overclocking is only not covered by your warranty, it doesn't void it.
You're also not overclocking it. The turbo core in my FX-8320 was causing it to idle at fucking ~45-50c
