Nearly impossible since you can't open them up without causing even more problems.

Just run scandisk /r in the windows cmd.
Run a surface test on the disk if you are really worried.
You probably can't look for the damage on the parts since you probably can't open it.
Physical damage can't corrupt specific files.
Just test the hard drive. If it works, it works.

I rarely see relationships (not necessary romantic) in anime that actually feel real. So I need some recommendations (from any genre) that involve good chemistry between the main characters. Some examples that I thought were great are Barakamon, Death Parade and Welcome to the NHK.

The idea of good chemistry is kind of ambiguous. If you're looking for a particular style of pairing i could probably be of more use, but i guess you can check out Lovely Complex.
Unfortunely i know way more mangas that have better pairing than in any anime. Manga is pretty much the go-to medium for that sort of thing.
