I've been running on the same Windows Vista computer for years. It has worked great all these years, but more and more programs have been locking Vista users out, so I started looking into updating the OS. A friend told me about something called Windows 10 to Go where you can install Windows 10 onto a USB drive and plug it into any computer and have access to Windows 10 without losing your own operating system. Try disabling your display driver (yeah, I know) from Device Manager while in safe mode, then reboot. If you can then run it non-safe with horrible VGA graphics, you're getting somewhere; uninstall & reinstall the display driver.
If that doesn't fix it, it's something else -- a system service or driver that's borked. Unfortunately, identifying the culprit could take some time. But I'm guessing display driver based on what W10 did. Maybe it poked your hardware the wrong way, stranger...

Oh, and also, since you "plugged in your friend's USB", make sure you didn't actually get stuck with some piece of malware that's now giving you trouble. Scan your PC from safe mode to be sure. (I'm assuming you have a decent virus scanner, of course.)

I'm all clear on the malware front. I checked their computer before they made the Windows to Go thing and I've checked mine afterwards. So far disabling the display driver and uninstalling it have gotten me back into the ugly version of normal mode, but the moment I reinstall the display driver I need to restart the computer which loops me back to the crash. Would it be safe to completely uninstall the display driver and delete it? Or would the computer not be able to install it again if it is completely deleted?

I think my comp is bricked. I recently got a new HP win 10 laptop just a few months back and now it just started to not respond on bootups. I restarted so I can get the new update (so it'll stop bugging me) but now it won't even leave the blue HP load up screen. Anyone have the same problem? Is it a windows update error or is there a physical problem? (Image not related)

Trying to get into a locked HTC One S. I'm at the point of too many password attempts. My phone isn't recognizing my primary gmail account for login, so my main option here seems to be a factory reset.
Is there a way to recover or back up internal data on my phone, such as photos, before performing this reset? I'm aware there is a program for this called adb but you seem to need that installed on the phone before hand.
The WiFi is disabled, and my phone is not rooted.
Additionally, the password attempts were accidental. I KNOW my password. If there is a way to get back to that screen to swipe my pattern in, that'd also be perfect.

I've gotten off the phone with my phone carrier, HTC, and google. I'm currently trying to gather up a proof of purchase or IMEI number to provide to HTC, which they can apparently use to remove google protection temporarily. If that doesn't work, then I'm SOL and will have to factory reset, unless there is a way to get ADB to work on my phone.

I have Iphone 4. I had it muted so no one disturbs me with calls or messages and I forgot to unmute it. I filmed some videos while the phone was muted and the videos don't have any sound :( Is there a way to fix the videos so that they have sound?
