Leaning towards these since they have thrust 2HR2s.
Bit skeptical of Lothric Knight, dunno if it'll be any good against enemies resistant to lightning.
Profaned does good damage without the fire buff, but then it doesn't have the sweet rolling 2HR1s that Astora's does.
And then Astora's is just kind of a good all rounder, and is super light so I don't really need much vitality, but won't do as much damage as the others.

I really want to make a Paladin Leeroy build in DS3 with Morne's Greathammer and maybe the Golden Eagle Shield or East-West Shield, but I'm having a hard time finding armor that would suit Leeroy in DS3, much less allocating stats so I can mid-roll without having to be SL170+.

Ds1's slow methodic combat is so much better and they should've kept it and expanded weapons to have more differentiated and complicated movesets like we saw in bloodborne. Would've worked a lot better than the excessively powerful roll and asking-to-be-broken shields we got in DS3. Forest was poppin on 360 tonight no summons or invasions in oolacile or dukes tho

I mean it's a great game, but DS3 is seriously the best souls game to date and I've been playing since DeS.
There are only a few problems I have with DS3. They got rid of the temporary summons they added in DS2 and seeds. Seeds are fucking retarded and ruining invasions.
So I just cheated for the first time, I invaded someone who was using a giant seed in farron's, literally looked everywhere and killed a dozen blues/millions of mobs, finally got sick of it, backed up my save and turned on cheat engine, force teleported them to me and killed them.
and god did it feel good, I think i'm just going to do that from now one and make another family share account if I get invalid data.

With seeds an invader has nowhere to recover. Phantoms and a host can depend on each other to cover while the other heals up, ect. Invaders don't have that ability unless the mobs are still unseeded.

I started with an uchigatana, and was unimpressed. I tried out the estoc and for like a quarter of the stamina usage, I was doing roughly the same damage and could attack more than twice as fast.

Katanas are actually perfectly balanced in general in DaS3 compared to 1 and 2, they're meant for trades with quick weapons and fast dashes and slices against most other things. The problem is the lack of moveset diversity within the katana class and the fact that the Washing Pole/Chaos Blade just outclasses every other katana in both range and AR. There's no katana with the Blacksteel Katana from 2's moveset that I know of for example.

I want to love DS3, I really do. The armor is great, the weapons are fun, there's a sense of suspense that I haven't really had since playing through DS1 years ago, but the lack of poise and PvP gank squads are really killing it for me. Even the PvE just seems cheap with the poise system, you just spam or get spammed on everything.
I want to have build variety when it comes to armor, but there's really no point to anything but dodge builds, is there? With poise gone, it all depends on who can stun the other to death first, and with every invasion I've done and had, it's always turned into an unfun gank. I haven't gotten invaded without a phantom except once, and I hardly summon. Does the game limit invaders if you don't have a phantom? It just seems so badly designed.
Also, is there a fight club spot that everyone congregates to yet? I want to see if I can get some 1v1 burg action going.

Sunlight has unbreakable hyper armor on its WA but has shit spellbuff.
The only good spell buff talisman is the Saint's Talisman, but its hyperarmor is garbage.
The only time the damage from Sunlight Spear is worth it, and this is assuming you're 60 Faith, is at point blank range.
I haven't used Canvas, but Sunlight Talisman will tank anything and get the hit in.
Just make sure you kill them with it, because they won't let it happen again.

I have no problem fighting against any weapon in this game except the washing pole R1s. I have no idea how to punish it. Every parry fails, the attack is way too fast for the latency. Perseverance won't work since the recovery of the running attack is instant. Out ranging with garg spear doesn't work either.

It's not even just that it's useless, it's that there's barely any dark magic at all. There's not even the basic Dark Orb spell, or Dark Bead/Hail, Pursuers is literally the only original hex that returns (discounting Vow of Silence which was originally a miracle). The few dark offensive miracles are shit, and Deep Protection is useless in PvP. Dark Edge is mediocre despite its looks, the one time I got hit by it in pvp it did 1/10th of my health at most. (Great) Deep Soul is good for mix-ups I guess but does disappointing damage on its own. The dark pyromancies are all awful, with Dark Fire Orb being useful only as a tool for PvE pyromancers to deal damage to fire resistant bosses.
And on top of that there's literally no dark scaling innate weapons beyond the Dark Hand. And infusing weapons as Dark means just using all the weapons that work well with Chaos since functionally Dark/Chaos weapons scale exactly the same but with different damage types since you'll want the exact same stat spread. It's amazing how an entire build option in 2 was gutted of any uniqueness and diversity of in-game options.

Something I really liked when looking back was how the opening cutscene in dark souls 3 changes soundtrack subtly with each lord of cinder, climaxing on yhorm.

One reborn's track doesn't sound special at all to me, it just feels like the same "horror" generic vibe bloodborne has going on with the tracks, it feels good for the atmosphere of the game, but it doesn't really characterise the fight very well.
Vicar amelia/Cleric beasts music was pretty decent, but I still felt it relied too much on the tension building music and didn't really characterise the bosses very well, basically the same criticism I had for one reborn.
Something like Orphan of Kos, the distant vocals coming in, it's incredibly haunting, and it remains present until the somewhat more generic second phase sound.
Wet nurse was good for the fight, but it's almost a "gimmick" soundtrack, in that it's not really enjoyable to listen outside, but works well in the game. It's like adding stock effects to a track, but with a bit more focus.
What's more important is that this is all preference, and I will probably always prefer how the composers handle dark souls because I find it gives them more freedom in variety.

if you have no use for spell slots then warrior is a lot better. if you're going hollow infusion then warrior is a lot better
if you're getting a spell (e.g. tears) and you're not going hollow it's more complicated. warrior still has less "wasted levels" then knight, but warriors waste is in a truly useless stat, luck, whereas knight's waste is in a stat that undeniably does something relevant, vitality. if you actually make use of that vitality, then knight is probably better

BB is extremely odd. When I finished with it, I felt like it was a very polished and well presented and executed game, but what it was going for was pretty much anathema to the souls fan within me. I coasted through the entire thing, never dying more than twice to any boss but Kos, and by the end I still had no idea what I was doing. I felt like my character hadn't gotten any more powerful, and like I hadn't gotten any better at the game. It throws so much shit in your face that can fuck you up instantly if you don't act first and gives you no chance to observe and respond to any of it that past the first couple of areas you're pretty much just flying on the seat of your pants and trying to kill anything new before it gets to do anything.

They will definitely get a ear if they are summoned while the target is alive, and get extras for any other target.
