I always wanted to have the scene from LiT visualized where Victoria accidentally hits Max in the face and takes a photo of her when she is so kind and forgiving despite it.

Yeah, those "theories" don't work, but they had been in many people's heads when the series was still on-going. In the end nothing really "works" and all the mystery feels a farce, but at least there are some interpretation/explanation possibilities left, even if they aren't too well-established in the game.
I think little Max would be more happy with Chloe than with doing the presumed "right" thing in the end. The finale narrative especially is about how Chloe is what she really cares about and what her heart wants. But there's an argument to be made whether she listens to her heart in the end or not. I'd argue that's something she should have learned throughout the week and something that is the only lesson growing up should teach us; that ultimately we can't control how things pan out and foresee the consequences of our actions, and so to go with our intuition, our heart. Most people just succumb to the idea that the storm is her fault and that she is responsible. When she obviously isn't. She blames herself, which is human and there are things to be said about her not having done things perfectly (which is human too), but she never did predict, let alone want any of it.
While feeling responsible even when you aren't (virtue) could be in a societal context be considered what "being an adult" means, in a philosophical or ethical sense I'd argue it is wise (and therfore mature, grown-up, whatever) to see the futility of feeling as a human "responsible" for things outside of you, let alone on a scale as complex and unforeseeable as these interactions are. Max had been following her heart throughout, and now in the end doubts this way of doing things and herself - this is the last test and for her to "grow up", in my mind she needs to overcome that doubt and keep doing what she did all along: follow her heart and don't think about petty concepts such as "the right thing", "the adult thing", "the responsible thing" or anything along the lines of "what is expected of you". And certainly not think along the lines of "that outcome is better than this other one" - because if the week taught her anything, it's that even with the ability of redoing everything, we can never be sure what happens or how our actions play into it. We can only be sure of why we make the choices, and that's what we should stick to.
Which arguably she could be doing in either ending, but we all know what her heart truly compels her to do.

The way I see it and the way Max seemed to see it:

See things through to the end and eventually they will get better. In my case that meant disregarding the cause of the storm and keeping to the path of saving Chloe as I had throughout the game.
Did you all know that the scene in which Warren tries to hug Max came from a mistake in direction with the mo-cap actors due to them thinking that kissing one another on the cheek is acceptable in America? The writers thought that it was going to be fine until they consulted their friends, so an interaction that is interpreted as Max refusing his advancements was a sloppy mistake that they wrote around?

The game does address it. If you deal with him rationally he admits that he has serious issues and tells you he's decided to seek professional counseling for the sake of his family. His messages and various background stuff show that he genuinely wants to be a good father, but has trouble adjusting his brusque behavior.

Absolutely, the "it better have been worth it" mentality is a valid one too - both for a person that goes through what Max did, and the player here. Max went through hell and back ~for~ Chloe. Without her it wouldn't have happened. None of it. Giving her up feels like giving up altogether in the end just for that reason alone. "Sacrifize Chloe" reads like "Sacrifize everything you have fought for and sacrifize the idea that you can make a difference" here.

Things she did had unforeseeable unintended consequences all the time. She followed her heart on most decisions, but in the end thinks she did it all wrong. That she should have seen it coming that messing with time would screw everything. I just think that's a tragically blind and naive conclusion. Just, we see her smoking a joint and she says that she smokes in the "I'll tell you what's in your pockets" sequence, and I think it would have been even for her characterization interesting to see her smoke when she is having a bad moment. And then maybe that she does less and less of that because she doesn't need all these bad outlets anymore all the time now that Max is back.
But there can't be everything in there. Is just surprising in general is all, especially with how much "smoking" fanart there is and since seeing her smoke at some points would have made her feel more authentic. All the shit Chloe experiences would have a smoker suckle on a cigarette like all the time.

We could use the lack of seeing her smoke throughout the game as an indication that she is not a heavy smoker at all though. Again, tons of moments where even just a regular smoker would have instantly had a stick in their mouth, but she doesn't.

I'd say there would be a week or two period where Chloe gets really bad. Smoking more, drinking like a fish, etc.but she tries to hide it from Max to try to appear strong for her.
And perhaps even Max tries some of the outlets Chloe has for stress relief and tries to hide it.
Ultimately it crumbles and they both have their first fight. Max says she's scared of Chloe killing herself with that stuff, and Chloe tells Max she does not want to see her become like she is. From there they both work on things and do not hide things from each other. It's a long process but they overcome the traumas and stresses they faced.

Nice little piece. I don't think there's a fic out there that deals with what they do during that thursday night and friday morning before the storm hits. It's a pretty good idea, but I guess it's hard to write because you have to somehow build dontnod's idea in there that they go complete retard and forget about the storm, don't warn anybody and then go to the beach alone when it does happen. At least if you plan to stay in canon.
But it's interesting. While yours is obviously supposed to be a little fluff candy, you still have Max contemplate the Jefferson thing, but think about it: this Max hasn't actually experienced that. She only knew about the Dark Room and was (however stupidly) convinced that Nathan is behind it. And then she came to herself and Chloe told her that her future self was just in her body and that Jefferson is behind it all, captured her, killed Chloe... How would Max deal with that? Hell, how would Max deal with the knowledge that at some point her "original" self will take over completely? There was recently a fic that delved into that a bit more, how the AutoMaxes essentially "die".
I could definitely see a longer piece on that. But I personally think "AutoMax" doesn't even exist; The focus mechanic in my mind works just as an instant re-structuring of reality, rather than there actually being a time stream of that stuff happening, let alone it being consciously experienced by anyone. Just like AlternateMax didn't exist before Max restructured reality to fit such a variant, and stopped existing after she rewrote it a second time. All these events, memories etc. are just different configurations that could theoretically be changed into anything at any point.I want Chloe to make me sandwiches.
