So I know that some Emulators are allowed when it comes to speedrunning but I feel like there must still be a difference between an Emulator and a console that gives the Emulator an edge.
Today a World Record got shattered, the guy used an Emulator to beat a world record that was only created 2 days ago and he beat it by ALOT (24sec on a 1h 18 run)
Thats not the first time either, whenever the guys using the Console breaks the record after weeks and months, the Emulator user breaks it in 3 attempts the next day.

Story time /srg/
What really Happened at AGDQ by anon:
The year was AGDQ, and our hero Mirrored needed to decide on an outfit. This is the second time he would be leaving the house, so he felt he had to dress to impress (and hess). Not wanting to wash, he came up with the idea of just putting on more layers as the days went on. He left for AGDQ and thought about finally meeting Cosmo for the first time in his life as he sat in the booster seat at the back of mom's van. He imagines going up to Cosmo and saying "I'm actually wearing the true hero's clothes, you just can't see them because you haven't come of age. This is a reference to The Wind Waker for Nintendo GameCube. Don't worry though, I'll make you a real man... but by then I won't be wearing these clothes at all. All right, donations please." From here, Cosmo would say "Oh Mirrored, I now respect and love you. Let's watch anime together and you can talk over me while I praise you for your epic bot."
Mirrored woke up from his fantasy from his mom yelling at him for getting cum all over his good pants. "Shut the fuck up Mom, by the time I'm back from the marathon, I'm going to be so soaked in cum you won't even see this spot at all!" Suddenly, Mirrored had an epic idea of how to confess his love to Cosmo. "All right yall at AGDQ, put all your donations towards a filename of my choice!" Mirrored imagined winning and getting on one knee, saying "Cosmo-kun, I have chosen the filename to be 'Marry me'. This is a sick reference to me. Wanting to marry YOU xd epic." He would then sweep Cosmo off his feet and start their family together.
Mirrored's plans started to crumble, however, as a bunch of degenerate trolls started donating towards the filename FrankerZ. "What?! No way!! I can't believe this!" said Eggman and Mirrored. "How can these fools accept money from these trolls?" Mirrored crossed his arms and thought madly to himself "My boner isn't even at full power anymore, this is bullshit!" Mirrored tried settling down to calm his nerves. "I need to get the triforce of courage to talk to him," thought Mirrored, caressing the acryllic triforce with his dick. Mirrored starting breathing to calm down.

It was time for the run, and the FrankerZ filename was chosen. "Damn it all, can anything else go wrong?" Mirrored prayed to based anime god Neviutz. "I know, I'll just have to impress Cosmo and everyone with my insane knowledge of the Wind Waker for Nintendo Gamecube! Afterwards, Cosmo will love me and grant all my wishes. Epic reference to Fairly Odd Parents." he thought. Mirrored then started stroking the Wind Waker baton, imagining it was Cosmo's engoged manhood in earnest. The thought of this drove Mirrored wild. The run began, and Mirrored let his mouth go wild. "Here we have the intro cutscene. Cosmo mashes through the text boxes because its faster to go through dialogue than to read it in this game. He will be doing a lot of rolling as well, it is faster than walking. Cosmo lost about 3 frames on this split compared to his PB. I have a whole chart on things like this if anyone is interested. He was too beta to make his move on Cosmo though, so he had to go home knowing that he had failed his life mission.
