Things like the Warpriest set effects are similar to perks. x% bonus to damage against monster, some silly, not all perks are positive, etc.
>Inspiration
Before you can make some more complicated items you need to "discover" it first. Inspiration is spent unlocking these items. Found doing everyday tasks and leveling the Invention skill.
Where to start invention?
>North of Fally Lodestone, Inventors guild. Small tutorial there.
How do you train invention?
>NOT by purely disassembling items. That would be like cleaning herbs all the way to 99.
>Big chunks of xp making devices and other items.
>Uses Make X like Smithing, Crafting, etc.
Making Gizmos
>Making gizmos provides good xp. Each augment as slots for 5 parts/components.
>xp for gizmos is based off of the rarity of materials and how many you use.
>you're shown a list of potential perks that gizmo will possess (based off of the materials used) and when you make it the final ones will be chosen randomly from that list.
Augmented equipment gains levels and the perks increase as you use them in combat (Max level 10). Weapons that are leveled up provide a lot of invention xp if you decide to disassemble them. If you don't want to disassemble them you can build an item that extracts some of the built up Invention xp from them and leaving it in tact.
Specialization
>Start with the "basic" tech tree
>When you reach a higher level you can choose which tech tree you want to specialize in (Dwarven or Goblin)
>Eventually you'll unlock everything. You just choose what you get first.
