Wargame Red Dragon is the third game in a series of RTS's about the hypothetical conflict ensuing from a continuation to open conflict between the western allies and the communist east during the cold war. The game take place roughly from 1965-1995. Red Dragon's addition to the series was the inclusion of Naval forces, they also implemented a number of community suggested changes and balances to the the game espansion of the aerial commbat from AirLand battle by adding alot of polish to the jets.
Red Dragon features over 1800 units meticulously remade to historicl accuracy in high poly, high res textures. Hundreds of of Infantry, Armored Vehicles, Helicopters, Self Propelled Guns, Infantry Fighting Vehicles, Tanks, Jets, Destroyers, Cruisers, and other pieces of military equipment are featured in the game. The armed forces of 17 nations are featured. The US, UK, France, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, West Germany, ANZAC (Australian New Zealand Armed Coalition) Japan, and South Korea for BLUFOR; and the USSR, East Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, China, and North Korea for REDFOR.
The game features sseveral different game modes all geared towards causing fighting to happen over the entire map, the intention to this is to try and prevent every game for becoming a matter of a quick 5 minute rush to decide each match. THe game features territory based income system, with no base building or resource gathering. To this day there are still dozens if not hundreds of dedicated servrs up and running 24/7, prividng non stop access to matches ranging from small platoon on platoon, close up and personal matches where every soldier counts, all the way to massive divisional scale conflict over gigantic tracts of sea and land.
Red Dragon also features the ability to play anything from 1v1 up to 10v10, totally lag free provided you have at least a 512 k/bps connection or better.
This fucking game is awesome and I don't wanna see it die. This is one of those games that you can sink thousands of hours into and still have fun with every time you log on. Super active, but the community is definitely suffering because of trolls and shit, it's more cancerous than /b/.
