That system is very legitimately bad.
To get a pink, you need to win 10 matches against orange, and to get an orange, you need to win 10 matches against light green. It is not based on your actual win ratio.
So trying to judge by colors is a bad idea.

That's because with Baka-Tsuki, it's always Japanese to Chinese to English, and they usually have a tenuous grasp of one or more of those languages.

It is a bad system overall that at best only gives you a very small idea of skill. But it's still an indicator nontheless. Regardless, a pink square is most likely going to be better than a green square.
Also, you only go up or down a square rank after winning or fighting someone of the same color. Fighting a yellow square and winning over and over won't bump up a blue square to a dark green, only another yellow would be bumped up.

Maybe. I like the slow improvement of fighting games. Sometimes you get in a slump and you feel like you're regressing which is awful, but if you take a step back (or pound someone completely new into the ground), the feeling of getting better is more tangible.
I like the grindan games, but fighting games feel slightly more special because the numbers are always the same and you get better over time instead.

It's pretty clear that Mori has been setting things up for Naoto to appear in the main game at some point. Aside from his parallels with Ragna, both Valk and Relius have met him before and Nine recognizes his existence as something that can be dangerous to the current timeline.

I think the guy who scanned it wanted to do a better job and typeset it and everything, but he vanished. There isn't a ton to the story though, just Alpha shows up, warps Jin back in time, proves that she's Ragna by showing Jin the wound where he was stabbed, and then they /ss/. Then Rachel shows up and goes "you're not supposed to be here, who is observing you?" and Alpha looks at the reader and that's what the last panel is about.
