I couldn't stand this game while I played it vanilla. Return of the Sword mod made it playable for me.
What am I to expect playing this?
Cool western world. Occasional boring filler quests that are time consuming, not challenging, and force you to go at a slow pace. Fantastic multiplayer, if it's still active. Decent story. Well-designed combat.

A lot of fun too be honest. Also do the sidequests, some of them are really interesting.

How many boss monsters in this anyway? Dunno if I want to go out and get it if an Ultimate might come out later. I like Monster Hunter but only really care to get them if there's a lot of content there comparable to 3U or 4U ya know?
Black Diablos hammer armor still in?
I'm not sure if Diablos is present for this one. There's a handful of other monsters and new sort of 'epic versions' of older ones. Like Dreadqueen and Dreadking Rathalos/Rathian.
On the bright side, Ludroth, Lagi, Uragann and Jho are all back as regular monsters.
Why the hell is adept lance/gunlance perfect guard so fucking hard to pull off compared to every dodge weapon's perfect dodge? Especially since the lance/gunlance striker styles are still clocking in miles ahead of the other lance/gunlance styles in hunting times meaning the damage output of perfectly timed adept attacks isn't worth it? Does a perfect guard allow you to block anything you couldn't already without taking chip damage?

Two years after the ending of Final Fantasy IX.
The happy ending was not to last. Zidane has not accepted by many of the subjects in Alexandria as rumours circulated that he was the brother of Kuja, whose wrath had brought such death and destruction to their world. Not to mention the fact that he frankly lacked the intelligence to rule a country, being more apt with 'street smarts.' It all caused a massive strain on his relationship with Queen Garnet, who also had become tired of his incredibly high libido. Her ass simply could not take it anymore, which led to arguments.
Freya was also having a hard time. Fratley never did remember her, causing her pain every day. Eventually, she thought it best for both of them if she simply moved on.
Meeting in a pub for drinks and reminiscing, this is the suprisingly bad news an increasingly drunken duo had to share. Zidane looks into the bottom of his last pint, and sighs. He really thought everything would work out for them both, but now...

I'm still 1 hour into this game but I'm still stuck on the tutorial map.

Can we stop with this meme already? Is the map small, yes. But was every single area of it not used? The map may have been small but it seemed to be packed to the brim with content, something the larger maps can't seem to grasp (I.e. IV and V)
