How was this game so bad? The first two were great, how did they manage to fuck up this badly?

So far he's ruined 3D Mario, 2D Mario, Paper Mario, Star Fox, Pikmin, Metroid. The list goes on and on. He's just not the same man anymore. They need to let him go.

Idk where CoD 4.6.0 went wrong, probably in CoD 4's original conception stages, but I can tell you where you went wrong:you picked up cowaduty.
Big, convoluted maps.
Emphasis on TDM, no incentive to ptfo.
Shitty color palette, everything's washed out, too difficult to tell people from the environment.
Boring, bland, useless killstreaks (and the fact that it used killstreaks at all instead of scorestreaks)
Terrible perk and gun balance
Ridiculously fast TTK
All that shit turned the game into a dry, boring campfest.

Besides the pc version being crap. The game was just bland and the guns handle like shit.
Having huge maps can work. Like you see in World at war bcause tanks. in Ghosts the maps made no sense, they were just one big open field with no chokepoints or center.
The minimap was great though

Have people reached a consensus on what the best portable emulation machine is?

Depends what you're emulating. Personally I think that the Zero has anything 4th gen and below on lock. But everyone loves the PSP with a diehard passion and is almost unbeatable for PS1 emulation. Unfortunately the PSP is almost a decade old and modern droid devices are way more powerful and better suited for emulating N64 and Saturn. JXD devices are popular if you hate touchscreens.
