What ruined it for me was the ability to have multiple functional War Factories and Barracks. The was I played C&C was to make a comfy base and using the minimal amount of units delicately tug on the loose ends until the entire fabric that is the enemy base would unravel before me.
As beautiful as C&C3 was I wasn't all that happy with unit spam.

It was polished, there was enough gameplay to satisfy the audience at the time and the jokes were outright hilarious.
