So I impulse bought a new 3DS XL. It's my first handheld since my old Gameboy Color when I was younger. Already picked up some of my old favorites off of the eShop like Zelda: Link's Awakening, various Mario titles, and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.
My question to you is this:
What are some of your favorite RPG titles on the DS? I've been itching to dive into a good RPG, but nothing on the eShop really grabs me. I decided I'd go check out what is available via game cartridge at Gamestop or something, but honestly I have no idea what to look for. Any input would be appreciated.

Just finished The Old Blood right after beating New Order. Seriously, this is the best FPS I've played in years.

Because they're not good. Only good thing about the game is the ways enemies react to being shot. It's really fucking boring outside of that and idtech5 (or the way that the devs use it) is just miles behind most other games/engines and feels like I'm playing a game from a decade ago.

You don't even get to fight Skullface, not in that area or anywhere else in the game, much less interact with him, and you can barely even see him in that screenshot.
This game in general was just tough. It took me five years to finally beat it. The bullshit part about this final boss: Right before you fight him he sends you back in time to kill four previous bosses in a boss rush fashion, and THEN only do you get to fight him. This guy had so much health and different phases I didn't think I would ever beat this game. It doesn't help either that even when you do get to him, if you lose all your lives, you have to do the whole boss rush again before rematching thus guy. Absolutely brutal. Recently started this game, just got to the third chapter. And then I found out I have a friendly kill.
I have no idea how this happened. I swear I didn't attack my own units. Is this an unavoidable scripted kill?Should I restart?

You literally have to do that on purpose. I can imagine someone playing through D2 and killing 99 friendly units including Rozalin and didn't mean to. Killing 1 guy is fine just don't let it get to 99

You're crazy. How could they possibly render more than one province and keep it all together? These games are made with consoles in mind and Fallout 4 can run rather terribly on both PS4 and Xbox.

I thought it was really good, all things considering. The gameplay wasn't great, but it was completely serviceable and really fun at times like the sky hook sequences. The story was quite frankly a much needed advancement in video game plots, talking difficult subjects like racism, religion, politics, and even quantum mechanics. The ending is polarizing, I know, but I think it's a really poetic ending once you think about it for long enough.
