Am i the only one who gets pissed about how games are being overrun by generic anime trash? I am talking about fire emblem, pokemon, final fantasy, etc. Where are the real video game characters at? Where did the cool protags go? I get mad everytime my weeb friends talk about these shitty anime games and I see the games industry continue to pander to the anime crowd rather than non anime shit. I don't even hate jap games entirely I just want more metroid or mad world or duke noukem even and less GOD DAMNED BLUE HAIRED SWORDSMEN.

Anyway, a friend of mine and I forged a strong bond in the trenches of XX#AC but while he kept up by becoming a NEET and playing BlazBlue while Inormied up, went to college and am working on a Master's.
High-level play isn't really that fun from what I remember; it's just stressful and frustrating. Do I really want to grind for hours, taking loss after loss, just so I can get back to that level? I dunno.

It made sense in Final Fantasy Tactics where your entire party is pretty much made of mercenaries. So being an archer, a knight or a White Mage is actually their jobs.
The classes in III and V being called jobs sound weird when you think back on it though.

Hi /v/, I have a bit of a weird request for you.
Simply put, I want to play a game where the main villain is present throughout the entire story, in almost every stage. Too many times I'll get involved in a game only to have one or two teasing interactions with the big baddie before the final boss fight.
I want an adversary that's waiting for the protagonist behind almost every load screen, one that you have to fight constantly and can look forward to finally vanquishing. I want a genuinely engaging villain that takes up the story, not just a face to slap onto the finale.
Got anything for me?
Allies that turn out to be the villain in some plot twist don't count.
