Can we all agree that, unless a non-vidya character like Goku or Mickey Mouse gets picked, nothing will ever top the surprise that was Snake?
At the time, everybody thought that only Nintendo characters would get in Smash. And even if there was gonna be a third party character, most expected something like Sonic or Mega Man. No one, and I mean NO ONE expected Snake.

I've been to bars and arcades though.
Last time I was in a proper arcade, not a movie theater one was probably in 95' when I was 6 years old and we had one in my hometown.

What part doesn't emulate properly? Doing things like starting a fire that require DS hardware can be tricky but I remember playing it fine years ago with No$GBA before I actually bought the game. Never beat it emulated though.

A lot of people tell me that I shouldn't care about single player in Smash when the last game (despite the gameplay not being as good) had a shit ton to do in the single player. Not even talking about Subspace, either.
So the Smash bros Direct is coming up over an hour and if it's just like any other character reveal, we'll end up with whining babies roaming the board, because their precious character didn't make it in. Luckily for you guys, I'm making this post here, so you can all redirect them to this post:

Hahaha, did you expect better from Sakurai? I'm sorry, a big part of the fans of this series actually want to see their favorite characters return, even if they are clones. Besides, they're really easy to produce. So you better just enjoy Wolf and /or Pichu.

Smash is an AAA game, with only the most recognizable characters in the video game series. You didn't really expect Shantae to appear next to Mario, Sonic and Pac-man. I'm sorry man, but an amiibo is all Shovel Knight is going to get and they're not going to reproduce new ammibos just to change the base.
