I suppose that's 20$ is a good value proposition for dark souls 2. Paying 60$ for it at launch and then another 25$ for dlc that wasnt supposed to exist was a bad trade though. If you like das i, you will get disappointed because of some design choices, but if you level ADP you can mitigate some of your grievances.
Nothing can be done about the enemy tracking though. Bteam saw how much we enjoyed backstabing and parrying, so they made it more difficult to pull off, and added a hilt bash to stop people from trying it in pvp.
With respect to lore, the game tries to go for mysterious, but it falls flat as obtuse or annoying. In the base game, you're given keys to doors you dont know exist literally half the time.
With respect to the level design, it is a mishmash. To be fair, darksouls was also a hodgepodge, but every location felt like it belonged because of the story you could glean from the text. In Dasii, it isnt clear why or how you go from one place to another. You could blame it on time and space are distorted in Lordran, but i think that's a copout since the map in DaS is excellent by comparison.
In any case i give it a 3/5, you should give it a try when it's on sale. dark souls 2 isnt for everyone, but you might like it.

So this is like £22 on the Xbone store at the moment, is it worth my hard earned shekels? Fallout 4 left a bitter taste in my mouth and now I wanna play a real RPG. Basically is it fucking good or what? I never much cared for it earlier in the year and don't even know that much about it other than its an RPG and the third Witcher game.
Personally I bought it and played for like 2 hours and was BORED as FUCK. The combat is repetitive and just so much goes on and it's hard to keep track. I'm sure others will love it but I just thought it was too boring to waste my time on. IMO

TW1:EE is the best game in the series, and literally just couple bucks now. Get it, stop whining, and play it. It's super comfy. The end game will make you regret any early whining you may come up with.

After playing witcher 1 and 2 I had no desire to slog through witcher 3.
I found gameplay and plot kinda weak in the first two, and witcher 3 had the same problems imo. Sidequests and worldbuilding were pretty good, again just like the first two. I feel like 3 just didn't offer anything substantial over 1&2.
But back to the question, it'd be okay for people to start at wild hunt, they'll miss out on a few characters and references but it'd be ok

Most of the kids hated him for not having a fairy, and the only other indication of what he was like was the drawing on his tree, showing him fighting a monster, he wished he could be a hero and probably played pretend with deku sticks and the like.
He probably did a lot of things like that considering how lonely he was, though Saria did care for him.
I like to thing he was kind of an asshole in his youth due to the bullying, which explains his cocky grins and playful bratty nature in the official artwork.
Yet when he grows up, he realizes shit goes down and actually tries to play it serious, yet often lets go of his facade considering he's still mentally a child.
