I found my old PS2 at my parents' house and brought it back to my current place of residence. I only found like four games (Max Payne, MGS2, MGS3, FFX) so I'm looking to spend a little Christmas money on some fun old games. What would you all get? Is pic related any good?

Ok what am I doing wrong here?
Right now the combat in this game just feels tedious. Every character is just a slightly weaker version of cloud and it seems like all I am doing is selecting an enemy and attacking. Yes, theres the limit break every once in a while, but its not really different from a normal attack, it just does more damage. I put materia in Aerith's equipment (and then she was captured) because she does dick all physical damage but even then she has less mana than the main character.
Is it going to be like this forever, just wait for the bar to fill, select an enemy and choose attack? Will I at least get a competent magic user at some point?
And what the heck is up with Tifa, she only has a melee attack and it does significantly less damage than cloud or barrett, and her limit break is just like "sometimes it is almost as good as cloud's"
Help me out here, am I doing something wrong? This feels boring (I like the story so far, though)

It branches out a lot once you gather more materia assuming that is a screen cap of your gameplay, however the gameplay never becomes deep, only a means to an end.
FF7 has aged like milk. If you wanted more interesting combat, play 8 or 10.

I mean it's not terrible, but there are certain things that make it feel pretty bad, like the bad AI.

I'm definitely feeling that part. NPCs saying different lines based on what i've done, or saying some contextual stuff, like the boss guy did after i went into the women's bathroom, and other tiny stuff like that.
I'm playing with the new GMDX mod installed which should have some AI improvements, but it kinda feels like the AI is broken at it's core.
I don't mind the crap shooting mechanics, i've played ss2 and other old fps, it's the ai that really pisses me off.

no I typically log in and do an FOB or two before going to MGO.
It's legitimately a good game, trips on itself frequently but overall has great ideas for the stealth genre and plays like a fucking dream, it's a shame FOX Engine won't ever see the light of day again if Konami keeps up their "worst company ever" campaign. Check out The new Tom Clancy Wildlands game when it drops.
