does anyone know that feel when you play for a week and then stop even though you didn't finish the main quest and barely dipped into the sidequests and then you reinstall windows so you'd have to reinstall the game again in order to finish it (you can finish it cuz you backed up the save)???
Anyone else having trouble finding a good shooter they actually enjoy playing?
Battlefield is too much of a twitch shooter, and ARMA is good but is too complicated to play casually. Sure, sometimes I like to use voip and work with my squad, but most of the time I just want to sit bit, relax and have a bit of fun slowly sneaking around the map finding good shooting positions while I listen to an interesting podcast.
Isn't there a good middle ground that's less twich shooter than Battlefield, but less complex than ARMA?
Insurgency is great but it's too linear and the checkpoint system means you cant zone out and listen to a podcast, it requires your full attention.
Maybe I'll try Squad when it's on sale. I'm not paying $40 for an early access game.

Usually prefer shooters with more life like aesthetics and aim down sight. I do love my arena shooters like Quake and Unreal tournament, but only when playing with IRL friends.
Verdun is pretty great but it has a similar pacing to Insurgency, so not really the relaxed experience I'm looking for.

So quick question, /v/; how crazy are you anons about potential health-gain losses, that is to say, the health you didn't gain when picking up a health pack because you reached max health, while the health pack could have healed 5, 10, or 20 more HP?

>Do you have "cut off" limits, ie you don't pick up health packs if you're going to lose out on 15 or more HP?
>Are you willing to keep going and save the health pack for when you take more damage, just so you can maximize all of the HP gained from the health pack?
Even though health packs seemed to have been phased out in some genres (namely shooter genre), they're still prevalent in RPGs as potions, keep in mind.

Which, these same questions can be directed towards ammo too.
If they're stray, one-time pickup items, I try to get the one closest, but mostly on games I don't know well yet.
In the case of potions I just buy lots of the most cost-effective item and give no shits if I have only 200HP potions to heal 10 damage
