How is it that this game (visually) looks vastly superior to DaS2?

I have never really been a gamer, but recently a lot of shitty stuff happened to me and now that the weight of the world has crushed my spirit, I don't really want a life anymore. So I bought a PS4.
Problem is I don't know fuck-all about the best games. What should I get from the PSN store? Any cool indie games out there or is it just Call of Duty and GTA shit.

I like the resistance idea.
I hate the execution of it. Its literally just Xcom 1 with a different skin, far too few features that actually show what a resistance would be like.

Lets talk about the new Doom.
We all saw those god awful multiplayer webms. Granted the multiplayer looks like shit. But I think the single player honestly looks promising. The gameplay from hell actually looked pretty true to doom. I think the movement looks really reminiscent of the old Doom, and I like the way they incorporated vertical movement. The double jump seems to fit in perfectly, and the way he was hoping around platform to platform while circle strafing hell knights looks pretty fun. My biggest complaints are the glowing executable enemies, piñata enemies, and shitty color palette. What do you guys honestly think? I'd appreciate actual critique instead of

I'm pretty sure there were never more than ten demons on the screen during that preview.
If they wanted the preview to make it look like DOOM they fucked up.
Still, kinder than them tailor making a demon filled chaotic rampage of a two minute preview and then actually delivering a corridor shooter with added demon arena breaks along the way.

I shot actual guns for the first time the other day.
Now that I know what that's like, what are some first person shooters with good gunplay that really captures the power and kickback of actual firearms?
Single or multiplayer, doesn't matter to me.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has the best kickback and recoil I can think of that fits with firing a carbine or pistol.

Out of those 3 the 3DS is probably the better overall choice.
The only big thing about the 3ds I don't like is the the triggers feel so weird with my big ass hands. I love the feel of the 2ds.
