Look, im sure its a good game but WHY do devs think it's okay to completely rip off another game's art style?
I mean holy shit. I refuse to play this for that reason alone, why cant you be inspired by a great game and not fucking copy it almost identically?
How can devs seriously be happy about this shit? Its like being satisfied with drawing something really cool but you just traced it.

The first time I played this game I spent 2 hours in the starting village looking for quests then got physically sick as I fought the goblins outside the gates. Game's been sitting untouched since then.

because it's wow lite mixed with halo and a sprinkle of terrible weapon balance and a dash of repetitive gameplay. It'd tank miserably on PC because they have so many better mmo titles
Can we talk about this game and why is it so good?
I justpiratedthis game after getting massively let down by Trails in the Sky (everyone raved about the world building, story, writing and all that while in reality the game was a stale, boring, uninteresting snorefest), and man this one is so good compared to TitS in every single aspect.
You have the same long winded NPC conversations like in TitS but in this one they're actually funny and/or interesting, the world building is just as good, the characters are much better (the main character especially is quite different from your typical JRPG protagonist), the music is nothing special but much better than TitS and also the graphics despite being still outdated have more charm than TitS' generic gray and green everything.
I'm just 15 hours in but so far this game has delivered more than TitS in nearly 30 before I dropped it.
Eh, I liked the story of Grandia 1 much more. 2 was alright.
It has an incredible battle theme.

One of my favourite dreamcast games. The fight system felt pretty exciting at the time and the valmar parts were mad cool.
