How's the Revelator beta going on for you?
Any exploits to get the demo for free? I don't even know if I want this game, I'd have to try the new characters that should have been DLC first.

Its exact same game. No balance changes. Couple new characters. It was dead in vanilla and even less will play a "new" $60 "update" that changes literally nothing. Still has shit 4+f online lag too. Just die weeb.
So, anyone picked this up?
I'm pissed. I painstakingly equipped all of my characters to ensure that all the gear would carry over. At first, it does, but then your characters get taken away, you get to keep what is in their inventories, but the stuff they wear gets overwritten with default equipment later when you re-recruit them. For what fucking purpose? I could have circumvented this by just loading everyone's inventory before finishing the beginning dungeon, but I'm too lazy to go back and do this.

No, the chest only contains whatever they had in their inventory. Their equipment, all of it, is replaced by mostly generic, some unique items that the game decided on.
I hate hyperbolic doom and gloom threads but this game deserves the TORtanic anti hype.
This piece of shit is worst than a musou, it has the worst battle system I've seen in any action game. For those who haven't played it, basically all you do is hold circle to attack and square to dodge while the game does everything for you and if you don't hold that button the game won't register your inputs. There is no other way to play this game effectively they don't want you to play fast or creatively.
This is casual to the next level it's not even a button masher it is a button holder because all you do is hold until the button brakes. Now picture your self holding buttons for 50 hours straight with absolutely no challenge at all.
This is fucking unacceptable, ten fucking years and they couldn't implement something better than a dumbed down version of the KH combat.
In conclusion that piece of shit of Tabata tricked all of us, will it sell 10 million? I hope not, I'll save my money for Persona 5 and hope Dragon Quest XI is localized.

Just saying it deserves such status doesn't mean it actually does.
It doesn't look as great as anticipated but it is nowhere near the levels of obvious disappointment that SWtOR had long before its release. SWTOR looks like a broken mess in every single trailer and leaked footage. Then release a broken mess and is still a broken mess to this very day.
FFXV is just bad framerates and dumbed down graphics. Not missing graphics terrible animations and broken gameplay.

I did. It's surprisingly good for games like The Division if you can't play with a kb/m for some reason. For many other games, it's shit.
The gyro is great, though. I imagine the next iteration of xbox controllers will get one as well.

It's decent for Dark Souls. Playing 2 with it right now and it takes a little getting used to, otherwise very solid and nice to use.

Videogames aren't art. As long as you treat them as dull entertainment then you'll never stop liking them.
But try to treat them as art and you'll be continually disappointed.
I don't think i'll ever flat out stop playing video games.
Maybe i'll play them considerably less in the coming years but i will never just stop. I still have moments with them where i genuinely find joy playing them, though those moments are becoming rarer and rarer.

I want to like and enjoy the game but this demo gave a really bad impression. The combat just seems awful. One thing that really bugged me is the input lag and also just the way Noctis moves around just feels really clunky and not at all what you expect out of a modern game. What's up with that hitch when he lands from a jump? Just awful.

Dragon Quest 1 came out too late in the west. Going back to a barebones RPG experience like DQ1 after playing Final Fantasy 1, which had a fully customizable party, just didn't click with westerners.
Lack of marketing and lots of half-assed attempts. Basically the only solid western release was DQ8 and at that point it had already been eclipsed by FF.

Wouldn't be surprised if this affects sales. I mean, I'll still buy it but I can imagine that a lot of people who aren't too invested in the series just watched it on youtube/twitch by now and don't give a fuck anymore. Twitch viewership already went from 50k to 5k.
