Adds an extra challenge to the game. I personally think its worthless unless its in easy to pick up and play style games like rouge lites or something.
In other games its just dumb cause it erases any progress at all. It doesnt feel good to lose everything at any point. Even if you only had the character for 10 minutes, it was just a waste of time.

I don't think so, the story's concept sounds pretentious as hell, and although it has been some time since they showed gameplay footage, from what they did showcase, the combat looks stiff and sluggish. It's like they learned nothing from Itsuno when he was schooling them on how to make good combat.
