For fuck's sake, they had all of low and high rank on top of most of G-Rank to learn these kinds of things. At this stage you practically have to know about what you're hunting if you are online.
Yes I'm fucking mad, this is supposed to be where the real game begins right? It's almost no different to the same bullshit in lower ranks. Carrying must go quite a long way.

This is why I stopped playing online outside of duoing with my MH buddy. That and playing with randoms just feels empty. None of the satisfaction of soloing, none of the fun of people you know. We've been playing 3U again recently while waiting for Cross to come out but school keeps us pretty busy. I had forgotten how few quests 3U feels like it has relative to 4U, but the variety still feels better, it's funny. Only thing is weapon selection certainly feels a lot smaller than I remember, as far as craftable stuff for a particular type goes.

At the end of the day, the world is quite small. However, the game requires you to make economy in terms of routes and healing supplies because fast travel isn't available from the go. Even in the late game, it is limited from how you place your few "port-crystals" around the world.
