As someone who grew up on NES/SNES/Genesis styled games, basically the only place I can still find these en mass is on Nintendo hardware, and they still make the best ones, so they're A-OK in my book.
I just turned 31 and have very little time to play games anymore, so if they ever stopped producing hardware I would likely stop buying new systems (not out of spite, but because the quantity of stuff I like would drop to below the justifiable threshold).
Treehouse/censorship crap doesn't bother me because if you don't follow it that closely you never notice anyway.

When Nintendo isn't implementing a gimmick, they're half-assing the title entirely by making it a ".5" version of the previous installment.
Nintendo should abandon hardware entirely and go third party so they can focus specifically on software. Nintendo of America desperately needs somebody new in charge who will ensure Nintendo's products are treated with more respect, in terms of both proper stock of inventory on store shelves and less recklessness when it comes to translating dialogue or editing graphics. Nintendo has already pissed off too many major third party publishers already anyway, going third party themselves would mean they wouldn't have to give two shits about any of them.
Everything about Nintendo of Europe seems to be going fine. They have really redeemed themselves over the past few years compared to how they used to treat their customers, especially with localization times.

The only thing keeping them afloat right now is the steady (if slightly underwhelming) performance of the 3DS. Its solid catalog of games is legitimately one of the few bright spots of the entire console generation so far, and I've never once regretted my choice to purchase one.
That being said, they keep shooting themselves in the foot (AC Amiibo festival and Paper Mario Color Splash being some egregious and recent examples). The fact that they are consistently lagging their competitors in hardware and continuing disregard for casual gamers (ie. the kind of people who aren't hardcore nintendo fanboys, but may have owned and enjoyed a gamecube or N64) is really worrying.
They keep thinking its 2006, but they don't realize they can never recapture the runaway financial success of the Wii because the Wii was a meme that was in the right place at the right time. The zeitgeist of that time can never be recreated because gaming is much more accessible to non-gamers now than it was then, and nobody wants a $300 machine when their smartphone gives them their fix for $1-5 per game.
They need to go back to that steady balance of appeasing their core while slowly bringing in a trickle of casual gamers from other consoles. The gamecube may have been a financial failure for the company, but at 20 million sold it wasn't a *disaster* and it made its owners very happy with awesome first and third-party titles. If they had tweaked the formula a little rather than throw it all out with the Wii, they wouldn't be so far behind all their competitors and the laughing-stock of the industry. I think it's too early to be drawing comparisons with Sega at this point when Big N is still worth 11 billion in total assets (nearly 5 billion of it in liquid cash), but if the NX can't draw casual and core gamers back in, they will have lost much of their remaining credibility.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about Nintendo. On the plus side, they've made a ton of great games throughout the last few decades. That's really what matters, and that's why I'll always like them to some degree. They have produced more quality games than any other single dev out there.
People bitch about the Wii U, but I like it. I've been playing a ton of Splatoon, Mario Maker, Smash 4, and Pokken lately. These aren't just the typical throwaway "AAA" trash that you play once and discard, these are games you can put hundreds of hours in. I also got TP:HD when it came out and cleared it a few times already. Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong: TF are also worth a playthrough. This is just my personal collection, there are also other good games.
I don't agree with a lot of the criticisms of modern Nintendo, like amiibos for instance. Don't like them? Don't buy them. It's as simple as that, and you cannot produce a valid argument against this. Nothing is forcing you to buy them. Just to demonstrate how retarded the anti-amiibo defense force is, I actually saw people complaining that they'd have to buy every single amiibo to unlock Mario Maker characters. The way they presented it was completely dishonest, they were acting like these were completely different characters, when they actually function exactly like Mario; they are just reskins, oh, and they omitted the fact that you can unlock them in the game. I can't think of a single instance where Nintendo has locked significant content behind an expensive and / or rare amiibo, yet that's how it's portrayed.
I do agree that they need to stop censorship, and firing Alison is a good start. They need to get rid of anyone and everyone responsible for these horrible localizations.
The NX looks like dogshit, and every single rumor floating around about it is bad. That stupid controller, cartridges, cloud processing, chaining NXs together, etc. these are all horrible ideas that won't get me to buy the console.

Overall pretty negative. I have a Wii U and 3DS, but I can't really remember the last time I heard something from Nintendo that I was really hyped about, or played a game that would fit my standards for a Nintendo experience. I still play the games from NES/B to Wii/DS pretty regularly in addition to other platforms, but Wii U and 3DS just don't have the magic. It doesn't help that there's basically nothing from Nintendo in the pipeline that I'm hyped for to improve their image in my eyes and I just keep hearing about more and more games butchered or refused localization by them.

I'm incredibly satisfied with the 3ds, the amount of games, released for it, and even it's gimmick can be enjoyable from time to time. (Kid icarus uprising in 3d was amazing)
Things that really concern me atm is the home console. feels like innovation means letting gameplay take the backseat. This started since the wii, and for as little market as the gamecube had, the games were extensive, and worthy successors of past titles.

From what I'm seeing, all-range mode doesn't look excessive. We've got Titania that's on-rails, the first stage, and Fortuna. For all-range modes we've got that one colony stage.

This is one of nintendo's most overlooked pitfalls of this gen. Sure Splatoon is great, but that's one IP (okay, we also got Steel Diver, but that game is already forgotten). 7th gen gave us Wii Sports, Xenoblade, Elite Beat Agents, Legendary Starfy, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. 6th gen gave us animal crossing (technically on n64DD but no one played it), Pikmin, Chibi-Robo, Odama, Golden Sun, and more.
This gen has tried to get by resurrecting old IPs (Kid Icarus and Bayonetta. Also Fire Emblem is slowly being made into a flagship title this gen), but there is very little actual innovation or risk-taking, despite their bluster about the "innovative" WiiU hardware, which Apple already did better. I feel they have been slowly degrading their brand since the Wii days in order to cash in on cheap gimmicks rather than core gameplay.
