In the beginning, before anyone joins you party, leave the town asap, instead of going to the castle.
Instead make your way all alone through the mountains to the village on the other side. Talk to the people there. Someone will give you a gift for "making it through the dangerous mountains" all by yourself.

do you use your potions/items in games or do you save them "just in case"?
I always save them.
Then never use them, even for the end boss.
All my good consumables just end up being completely wasted.
Save them. I also will always pick the slightly weaker ability that I can use consistently over the really powerful one that has an incredibly long cooldown.

Compared to Skyrim, it's got no depth, and come on, we all know we secretly hate the puzzles and just want to get through to the action part of the dungeons. Skyrim got it right, it excels at action.
Fuck pushing blocks around for 9 hours when you can kill mammoths for 300 hours. Objectively a superior game. Full of action and no annoying puzzles. Get with the times, grandpa. Skyrim is the pinnacle of RPG gaming.

What're you playing, and could you recommend it?
Eh, okay I guess. I'm a little burned out at the moment so I've fallen back to playing something I don't play when I actually want to play games. Usually it's TF2 but I'm trying to play dota 2 at the moment. I'm pretty stuck on trying to learn it though, all those heroes and items and skills and builds etc. I have no idea what the learning process is for a moba and where I should start and I'll probably stop playing it in a week or two when I feel like playing something I actually want to play.

There's probably some guides out there, but I reckon the easiest way to get going with it is grabbing some friends and failing for a while.

I feel you, OP.
Whenever it comes to stat allocation I'm retarded. Also since I know I'm so bad it makes me uneasy whenever I get stuck in the game because I don't know if it's because my build is so god awful or if I just need to try harder.
I find games that rely on stats boring. I want this shit to be purely skillbased, to show the game I've learned to play. Not to grind because otherwise I'm in a disadvantage with the game regardless of actual skill.
